@meraord@mastodonsweden.se feeling less and less compelled to post as often when I do there is very low engagement so I’m caring less and less. I know some use it more as a journal that is shared bit I don’t want to be online like that. I’m rethinking what being online means at all in light of current events

I’ve got myself with too much #Tech content in my feed. At the same time, many of the non-tech people I follow have left the fediverse …. And when I post or see non-tech content, it gets a lot less engagement so it feels like a dead end to engage myself Which continues the cycle and less and less non-tech content is present. *sigh*

@Tamtam @mvsde it’s extremely different but the arrogance of open source tech is absolutely the biggest barrier to adoption in my opinion. “Works on my machine” is the approach to so many things. Which means it doesn’t work! And then the gaslighting and condescension on top yeesh. Glad I’m out of tech after 15 years and teaching French now. There is a MUCH greater recognition of what people need to adopt new skills (spoiler that eye rolling is never helpful)

@Tamtam @mvsde been feeling this for years too. I worked in tech for years and found devs have expert blindness and do not often enough do the hard work of working with “regular people” I get it as it’s hard work, but to not do it and then blame others for not understanding is gaslighting
