At what point does something go from a “website” to a “web app”?
Obvs a static site like eff.org is the former & a radio.garden is the latter, but what about my favorite little utility sites like https://myminifactory.github.io/Fast-Quadric-Mesh-Simplification/ or https://send.djazz.se/ or https://removelinebreaks.net/ or even bookmarklets in the case of ANDI? https://www.ssa.gov/accessibility/andi/help/install.html

#DearDiary I was shopping around today at an outdoor mall bc it's BEAUTIFUL OUT, and at Anthropologie I heard a woman who looked super chill & cool explaining LibreOffice to a very tall guy, and I loved she used the word "interoperable" bc I've been on the struggle bus with that word before. Anyway I wanted to join their conversation but I didn't, because a) weird and b) I would've been like "I love FOSS but LibreOffice sucks" & I don't want to yuck anyone's #FOSS yums

idk what's going on in your server but the legal jeopardy is interesting. Does the law even know we exist? The US is mostly making surveillance deals with centralized platforms & cloud services. For such an un-walled garden like fedi, the extent to which nobody really sees our discourse is hilarious.
Although if I'm wrong & a server has had to shut down bc their users are wishing death upon despicable war-mongering predators or whatever, I'm interested to know more about that.
