@DarthAstrius@mastodon.social Check out Nextcloud Memories (https://memories.gallery/) and Immich (https://immich.app/) as alternatives to Google Photos. Proton Drive too, but seems you might know that already. I'm not sure the state of import features for these but you can export from Google Photos with a bunch of meta data in JSON files.

Trying out the #COSMIC desktop environment again, looking nice! One thing I like about tiling is how easy it is to assemble a simple IDE from simpler applications 🙂

@stib@aus.social I use only a handful of AUR packages and am able to review the PKGBUILD meaningfully. For users who are unable or unwilling to do so, Flatpaks and Snaps are a safer choice in my opinion, as they run sandboxed. Users should still check the sandbox permissions and guidance on their software store of choice (e.g. Gnome Software or KDE Discover) before installing an app, but that requires less expertise than inspecting a PKGBUILD.

A little late, but #Linux packages for all my software (Mending Wall, Doxide, Birch) are now available for the recent #Fedora 42 and #Ubuntu 25.04 Plucky Puffin releases. Repository at https://download.indii.org. #foss #opensource
