It needs some more revisions but my new blog post is up:
"Slop is incompetence, treat it as such"
I did a cool dumb thing using #Krita (openSUS) and #Inkscape (fedorable)
openSUS is not an original idea, but I didn't see anyone make a good shareable version
fedorable is an original idea using the floof emoji from @volpeon@icy.wyvern.rip
"Days since I last spent an hour on a rookie mistake and blamed something else instead: 0"
help i think my computer got soemthing..
i wasnt browsing anything werd I swear!!!!
no wevery time i open my browser one of this things pops up instead :neofox_cry_256:
Excellent, my latest blog post is *not* in search engines and even AI search can't see it. Thanks iocaine + not being in Planet KDE's RSS feed.
Poor SEO but at least no fucking slaunder from random large lying machine news distorting my words and saying "clearly this post praises AI" like the last time.
Excellent video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUibe79R0K4
How To Write Two Perfect Villains In One Movie | Jack & Death
Oof, Extera got an SQLite error and logged me out. That's a first.
Somehow I've been getting more profile views on LinkedIn after changing to a furry picture :neofox_think_woozy_256:
I'm lying down and kitten just came purring loudly over as close as possible to my face, a literal 2 cm from my eyeballs, let out the groaniest meow of all time, and then sat on my shoulder non-stop purring.
Kitten is very funny, he follows me a few centimeters behind thinking he's being surreptitious, then I turn around and he thinks he has just been discovered from a stakeout and runs away.
I learned about Pagefind recently when looking at what we use for the search in https://api.kde.org.
It's a solution to add search to a static website. You just run it on your public HTML files and it generates the necessary JS and CSS with WASM.
Just added it to my blog. It's impressive! Mostly because it's seamless, the other solutions for Zola were so annoying to test and set up. I just needed to add one visual HTML element (the actual search bar).
Merged my zola branch to main. It's definitive now.
My blog has a bunch of emojis now, and I'm mildly concerned that someone will think it's an AI website or something, but eh.
Maybe I'll add a "made with my own two paws" button.
...what. There's RSS feeds for git commits?
podman ps is great and all, but sometimes you don't want the full output, only two columns (like container name and ports).
podman ps --format "{{.Names}} {{.Ports}}" does that, but it's very messy because you have to format it yourself and names and ports are separated by a space, whose column position in the line is almost never the same. Using \t to split by tab will cause the spacing to be different between word lengths.
So...
podman ps --format "{{.Names}} {{.Ports}}" | column --table --separator ' '
This will output the container names + spacing + port + [spacing] + [port] + [spacing] + [port] + [spacing] + [port].
[ ] = only if it exists
I should finish reading Nik's route in The Smoke Room. It's the only one to have an ending so far.
#WriteTheDocs just released a bunch of new videos from their most recent conference and unfortunately some of them shill AI, but one video caught my attention and is definitely worth watching: The Most Human Documentation.
It talks about the things to avoid in order to not be mistaken by machine generation, and what it means for your #TechnicalWriting and #Documentation to feel human. The talk comments on this from a cultural perspective and it matches what I've been thinking about recently.
With the rise of LLMs and their gross effect on online text now there's humans that work on humanizing machine content, be it with deterministic tools or with humans. In the end humans prefer content that feels human, and human content continues to provide more value.
It's amusing to know that the troll maker that made the foundation of modern troll levels in SMM was from Brazil.
For a couple years I've been pondering using a CMS of some kind for my blog, but I guess it's irrelevant now with git-pages. My CMS is just my git repo.
