What a horrible, horrible experience Microsoft Teams continues to be. I I'm getting "We need you to sign in again. This could be a request from your IT department or Teams, or the result of a password update" messages four times in three minutes - which sometimes prevents me from doing things (like chat) - but sometimes its ... fine? Video conferences are on-and-off again success. Random failures while switching from one Teams account to another. I can't fathom people using this voluntarily.

Quietly slipped in today: the XSF has published a new XEP - XEP-0512 - which I had the pleasure of authoring.

It's a small step, but one that opens up some interesting directions for #XMPP implementations. Curious to see where people take it from here.

@beyondmachines1@infosec.exchange Whenever I watch videos from Midlife Stockman or Al Bladez (showing my guilty pleasures here), I notice that it is apparently the property owners that are responsible for maintenance of the sidewalks. Where I live, that's done by the city/municipality instead.

I wonder if this has anything to do with a negative sentiment around sidewalks. If you're not planning to use a sidewalk, but suddenly are required to maintain it, I can imagine you'd not be very happy.

Fijn dat decentrale oplossingen aandacht krijgen! Eurosky is niet de enige: #XMPP is een open protocol voor instant messaging dat al tientallen apps en diensten mogelijk maakt die gewoon met elkaar samenwerken. Denk WhatsApp, maar dan decentraal en federerend.

Als bestuurslid van de XMPP Standards Foundation en ontwikkelaar van meerdere XMPP-apps vertel ik er graag over. Uren, als je me laat. Nieuwsgierig?

In the wake of a significant security breach at #Odido information tied to millions of subscribers was leaked. Odido is one of the Netherlands’ largest telecom providers, offering mobile, internet, and TV services to consumers and businesses nationwide.

Rather than pay off ShinyHunters, Odido declined. Refusing to negotiate with extortionists is the right stance, even if this breach should never have happened in the first place.

I am experimenting with new rendering libraries for the XMPP Network Graph, which shows how servers and users connect across the XMPP network. The graph has grown so large that it does not render well on many devices.
