Good advice
fed a dig of sad looking archeologist about two years ago. Followed me home despite my best efforts.
Now we have dozens of them in a warren of tunnels across the neighbourhood. Me and by neighbours can't go outside without them approaching us with broken pottery / your underground plumbing or rusted building waste to trade, begging for food.
The council baiting program hasn't been effective and they have warned that this parasitic subspecies is prolific as they are adapted to promote the fall of the civilisation they infest (leading to increased ruin habitat) by eliminating running water and sewage system and promoting disease by distribution of rubbish.

The commentry I read was a couple of accounts one was "best tasting mushroom ever" the other was that the lack of bitter or off flavours lulled them into eating a suspect collected mushroom the weren't 100% sure of because it tasted good it must be safe right?
Does still feel a bit unnecessary.

I mean who the hell does that? Do you want the good tasting mushrooms or the non-lethal work a day variety? I'm all for a deity with a sense of humour, but why so dark?

Politicians are very well paid ( minister ~USD$800,00) but banned from other employment or gratuity. Any benefit is seen as corruption, money loans, favours, big or small and punishment is harsh. (Accepting a private jet would preclude leigablity for parliment and carry a prison sentence for example) In practical terms any bribe big or small prevents any further political career and prison sentences are routine to the point of mandatory. Sweeping investigative powers and a burden of proof on public officials to explain expenditure beyond their official income also help significantly. We could learnt a lot and compliments your suggestions. Combined we might see integrity in politics and governing in the interest of citizens.

My kids, now adults still joke, if there's an unexplained rustling in the garden," Hmmm higguhs" is the explination.

Well I did learn a bit from supporting vulnerable people during Covid, a little foresight and a community stockpile goes a long way.
Would you need a full blown carbon filter respirator or is a N95 mask enough to protect local people from the toxic smoke when my community burns down data centres?

@notjustbikes @LovesTha a critical part of nuclear power viability is the ancillary uses (having the capacity to build nuclear weapons or support nuclear powered infrastructure eg submarines or aircraft carriers).
Ukraine has illustrated that the massive and expensive single target infrastructure counter acts a lots of these consideration (with asymmetric cost, vulnerability and localised contamination risk)
Renewables with storage already win on cost, decentralized / defuse vulnerability, and load response capacity, and we are not yet at the bottom of the cost curve.
I suspect the nuclear age is already historic.

It then either crushes everything else to the point of killing its host and itself
Or it fails leaving catastrophic damage to the host. (Bubble collapse)
Even if the magical black box machine god manages infinite exponential growth as promised (which I doubt) it kills you either directly or by consuming your ecosystem. A child can see linear systems are by definition one way.
The total lack of regulation, the misappropriation of resources (intellectual and other) and the push to militarize by dumping more resources into it bodes so very well.
