#micCheck and a BIG #askfedi for my next Replicate project.

Tangata whenua, Traditional Owners, Turtle Island, Sámi, Palestinian, Gàidheal, and all cousins from all parts are wanted to lend a voice to a track on an upcoming project. The track will be an aggressive cover and adaptation of a classic and scathing #hiphop ripper.

Helpful if you are but you need not be a singer or a rapper or a musician. Just keen to speak, rap or yell a word, or a line, or a verse in any tongue. We'll build the production to accommodate. Caveat, or feature not a bug, it will be updated for the times to be as very #fuckGenocide, #fuckTechBros, #fuckAI, #landback as we need it to be.

Calling any and all first peoples and carriers of colonisation, removals, enslaved, language shift, and oppressed generational trauma for a bit of #camaraderie and hopefully fun and cathartic sonic resistance.

I realise much fedi discourse skews VERY heavily to the so called "global north" but would be amazed and delighted if we could link up with some cousins outside the dominant echo chamber. I am 100% welcoming VIP clicktivism in this instance.

It's hard for #indie #artists to try and have a semi ethical online presence. Even harder when the artist comes from the darker nooks and crannies of the sonic palette, like a boss fight and one of your Famicom buttons is sticking.

@fairplayer @jamesmarshall why?! faircamp IS our download and soft paycurtain method already. Doing an opt-in unified player with some maybe kinda potential for discovery is nice but your website is quite unclear on copying or pushing potential resource strain down to artists' hosting. For the things that if not already in the thread will pop up from the "now do this" dogpile: Folks need to just keep getting better at directly supporting artists if they actually care. Middlemen are an infinite harassment, annoyance and barrier for artists. Also crawl before sprinting, there is no ethical payment gateway, grouping or middlemanning payments is a liability speed run to shutdown. Go to artists' faircamps where download and support is zero clicks away instead of up levels and onlynin one spot. There will never be a streaming or discovery platform for indie artists where you can also stream corpo catalogues and support rhianna's lawyers' yachts.

@fstateaudio This is cool! cc-by mostly works for me for sounds on account of cool cats would probably attribute anyway and nice word of mouth is nice. The open invite to just ask for explicit permission for longer form stuff has also worked fine for me otherwise -SA says how I feel because grifters and corpos would never share alike. With the total understanding that those parties don't care and can out resource any of us underground peons no matter what license we adopt. Yet I appreciate something that says cc0 except for you corpo/slop bastards, and specifically for sonic building blocks is proper wicked.
