@grammasaurus@mastodon.social @ascentale@sfba.social @bikenite@fedigroups.social no problem, if you don’t need to ride your bike right away it helps if you let the patched tube sit overnight without air so that the glue has time to cure. It will hold air much better that way, but if you’re in a pinch (eg out on a ride away from home) it’s fine to patch it and put air in after the patch is visibly dry. In wet conditions you can use a lighter to help the glue dry sooner, just be careful since the glue is flammable. #bikeNite #bikeTooter

@ascentale@sfba.social @grammasaurus@mastodon.social @bikenite@fedigroups.social A5: unless the hole in the tire is large enough for a new tube to poke out of it when you put air in it the tire is totally fine to reuse. If the tire is warn down to the point where the tread is noticeably no longer visible and you get more flats then that is a sign to replace the tire. You could even patch the tube and reuse it as well. #bikeNite #bikeTooter

Some heart warming good news to distract from the bad news: my partner and I were hiking in remote Modoc Co, California when a puppy ran up to us mid hike with no collar and a leash wrapped around his neck. No owner to be found anywhere and no one else on the trail. We ended up taking the dog with us and contacting a local humane society, then meeting someone at a local veterinary office to have the dog checked for a microchip, be examined, and get meds. 1/n #dogsOfMastodon #goodNews #rescue

@matthiasott@mastodon.social your work and writing very much resonates with me and I find it to be inspiring, thanks for putting it out there! It would be great to talk to you more about it at some point as I’m currently going through a job transition and my ideal next role would be in the design engineering space. No pressure though, I’m sure you’re busy!

Not sure who needs to hear this, but disagreements and conflict are often essential for doing good work. Explained very elegantly by @matthiasott@mastodon.social

@Greg@social.coop seconding the Roland V-Drums TD-17 as a good option as I own one. I play both acoustic and electric, the electric drums will never measure up to acoustic if you’re looking to play certain genres of music (eg jazz), but for a beginner just getting started I think it’s totally fine.
