Years back, someone put a fake great horned owl on a stump in the woods, it had a straw hat. I half jokingly said it was the most photographed owl in the park. Two weeks later it was gone. But, we all loved the wimsey.

I get lost in the weeds quickly when it comes to cyber security, but even I can grasp the gist of this. I think I'll unplug the living room TV that I almost never turn on. A woman's home is no longer her castle, she has to share it with spiders and other creepy crawlies. I already unplug the Bluetooth speaker when I'm no using it.

Here, it's the Fish Crows that eat all the turtle eggs. No sooner than a turtle comes out of the water to lay it's eggs than the crows are waiting. I've covered the nest with lots of branches and the crows just toss them aside and still get the eggs. How we still have any turtles is amazing.

@rdnielsen I was living near an interstate and surrounded by busy roads. I'm allergic to pollens, so I had a constant sinus issue. Daughter gave me a air purifier because when she visits and dabs, I cough more than usual. Right away I could tell the difference so I got one for my bedroom, too.
Now I've moved to an area with cleaner air, and what a difference. I still run the air purifiers, but my sinuses love this.

Forty years ago I had breakfast with my Uncle once a week. He was getting into the whole right wing, NRA member thing, I have always been a liberal, but we did agree on a couple of things. We both agreed that we had maybe 20 years to change our way of polluting the planet before it was too late.
We also agreed that if you took away benefits from the poorest, they'd become desperate and start robbing and dealing for a living.

When my brothers were still kids a friend who was from NY (we're in FL) came by at supper time. They asked him to wait on the porch, when they came out the boy was darting all over the porch exclaiming "look at all the baby alligators!" about the Brown Anoles. :)

I'm not reaching for support. I'm listening, because although I've got survival skills from adversity, I know I can always learn from Black folks who have had an extra layer of adversity on their shoulders.

One martyr, please. I don't have the skills or I'd gladly give my life for my country. For all of you. We all deserve better. The ones getting hurt the worst are POC, women, LGBTQ+, disabled. People who have always been treated unequally, now being harmed intentionally again, by the very government they pay taxes to, to *represent them*.
All the separate protests are nothing more than psychological masturbation if they are held in individual cities. The mafia just blow us off, it means nothing to them, like a lone gnat in a stadium. Sure, it's good to join lots of likeminded folks so we don't feel so alone, but that's all it does. It doesn't change what's happening.
I'm sorry I can't make the world safer for us, beyond trying to be kind to kind people.

I remember when I was doing my genealogy it also meant learning quite a bit of history. I'd sit on library floors reading and I remember reading about one white man saying it wasn't fair to just free a large group of society without first providing them an equal education, so they could be functioning members of society. (Paraphrasing here, of course)
How different would Black history in the US be if we had welcomed our Black neighbors by lifting them up? Instead we white folks created jim crow and share cropping, essentially keeping things the same, but with a thin veneer of freedom. We broke up families, when many left for the north in hopes of equality and proper pay.
And the effects of that legacy still ring today. I worked with a young man when I moved to GA, if it was just he and I we laughed and had real conversations. Soon as a white person came in, his whole demeanor shifted, he stooped and never looked a white person in the eyes. He was raised to behave subservient w/ whites. 💔
