Shocked to hear of the death of actor & singer-songwriter Glen Hansard. Aside from memorable roles in Once & The Commitments, Hansard knew how to tell a story--spinning a yarn here about meeting Van Morrison.

In the wake of the lethal Maine ICE shooting, Susan Collins 'urged' DHS to cease all non-urgent vehicle stops. Collins also voted to approve an additional $70 billion in ICE funding.

The reason ICE keeps killing people is simple--there are no consequences.

It's mid-afternoon & Susan Collins has yet to put out a statement on the Maine ICE shooting. Seriously.

Abolish ICE--not because it makes mistakes, but because it's doing what it's designed to do.

Good to see James Talarico talking about the shooting of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo and calling it what it is: murder.

Interesting that Hunter Biden is choosing to remember Graham as he was before Trump. Because he believes in an America after Trump.

The American notion that "both parties are getting more extreme" is absurd. One party supports shooting people in the street. The other party's 'extremists' support universal health care. Come on.

It's also estimated that 52 people have died in ICE custody in the first 500 days of Trump 2.0 (according to Human Rights Watch).

The murder of Lorenzo Salgado Araujo should be a defining moment for the Talarico campaign, for Texas & for America. Ten people have now been fatally shot by ICE.

My goodness, FOX/MAGA are terrified of #JamesTalarico taking Texas. Completely unhinged propaganda campaign that is only getting stranger & more demented. What on earth are they projecting?

There is also the matter of Melania's visa. It is not credible that Melania should receive an EB-1, or 'Einstein Visa.' These are reserved for Nobel laureates, Olympic athletes & acclaimed researchers. There is another story here that must be told. Let's also remember that Melania questioned Obama's citizenship.

Credible estimates of the number of times Trump's name appears in the Epstein files: 1,500 to over one million.

It should never be forgotten that the number of women accusing Donald Trump of sexual misconduct is at least in the double digits. Then there is the little matter of the Epstein files.

Right on cue Iran turned America's slapstick World Cup loss to Belgium into another LEGO banger. Trump / America humiliated on the global stage in the great game. My goodness.

Trump's FIFA fiasco ends with an embarrassing 4-1 defeat at the hands of Belgium. A slapstick loss. If Trump's superpower is shamelessness, so be it. He still managed to make himself & his country a laughingstock. His FIFA peace prize is as fake as his orange tan--a pathetic prize made of fool's gold.

It's time for some law from the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Prosecute Netanyahu, Putin & Trump for war crimes. Lift U.S. sanctions against the ICC. Let the chips fall.

@setsly @becha This is an interesting point that I've been thinking about. This could really drive a revolution. On the other hand, the worldview that supports capitalism labels humans as consumers; undermines agency, reduces relationships to transactions, distorts freedom and weakens democratic participation. But if we harnessed the market to the health of people & ecosystems ... good things would happen.
