This conflict has always been complicated and difficult for many of us to understand. Communal forms of organization were present that not all of us knew or understood. The existence of a struggle over community resources. The legacy of Magón. Different family members have been involved in the conflict. Above all, the evident division of the people between the representative authorities of the state and the community assembly.
It was difficult to analyze all of this from the outside, with little information and with some doubt: What would an anarchist have to do with a conflict that could be reduced simply to an electoral dispute? Soon we began to unravel the situation and something was becoming more and more clear: there was one side, the state, putting to use its repressive resources against the community assembly.
Thus, the reduction of the conflict to an electoral dispute pointed to something much larger: the struggle of the people and the community assembly was not for the mere presence of a “false” municipal president. It was rather for the autonomy of the people and the strategies they developed to maintain themselves outside of the state.

El conflicto siempre se presentó como algo complicado y poco entendible para muchxs de nosotrxs. Se atravesaban formas comunitarias que no todxs conocíamos y comprendíamos; la existencia de una lucha por los recursos comunitarios; el legado magonista; se presentaban varixs actorxs encontradxs que eran familiares y; la evidente división del pueblo entre las autoridades representantes del Estado y la Asamblea Comunitaria.
Fue complicado analizar todo esto desde afuera, con poca información y con dudas al respecto pues, ¿Qué tendrían qué hacer unxs anarquistas ante un conflicto que podría reducirse a una cuestión electoral? Cosa que pronto fuimos desmarañando y nos iba quedando cada vez más claro algo: había un lado, el del Estado, ocupando sus recursos represores contra lxs miembrxs de la Asamblea Comunitaria.
Así, aquella reducción del conflicto a una cuestión electoral apuntaba a algo mucho mayor: la lucha del pueblo y la Asamblea Comunitaria no era por la mera presencia de un presidente municipal “espurio” sino por la autonomía de los pueblos y las estrategias que elaboran para mantenerse al margen del Estado, sus órganos represores y su control.

🔴Why Does the Political Persecution Against Miguel Peralta Continue?
📍On February 20, 2026, the First Collegiate Court of Oaxaca officially recognized the falsity of the testimonies against Miguel, thereby acquitting him of all charges.
📍That ruling should have put an end to the political persecution against him. However, on June 12, 2026, we were notified that the case of Miguel has returned to the Supreme Court, as the court accepted a motion for review filed by the accusing party—the State Congresswoman Elisa Zepeda—against the ruling granting him absolute freedom. That ruling has now been “suspended” until the Supreme Court dictates a new ruling. Miguel’s case has thus been reopened, and the State persecution against him continues. The new ruling from the Supreme Court is expected sometime in 2027. The coming months are crucial to demand the court put an end once and for all to the persecution.

Call for Poetry from the Prisons and from the Streets
We want to share this new call for poetry, Haiku without Haiku, for free, unchained verse, born as a continuation of Haiku without Haiku (2023). The new collection will be titled, “Raices y Radicalidad” (Roots and Radicality) and was launched by the compañeros Juan Sorroche, prisoner in Terri (territory of so-called Italy), and Miguel Peralta, who currently is fleeing persecution from the Mexican State in some part of the world.
Roots and Radicality seeks to create a space of encounter, convergence, and expression for those who “confront, resist, and struggle daily against power” in different territories.
Therefore, we invite you all to contribute verses, thoughts, feelings, and words to this collection.
We welcome contributions in whatever language, including indigenous languages, those languages that resist and flourish in spite of the imposition of colonial languages, as well as any form of free expression.
This is a call to never stop dreaming, imagining, and creating infinite new worlds!

Since colonization, the pueblos have developed different forms of survival and resistance against capital and the ways in which it has plundered their territories: mining for gold, extracting rare earth minerals, megaprojects, the grand deception of green capitalism, and war.
As capital intensifies its exploitation and colonial imperialism, the struggle and resistance of the pueblos in defense of their territories must be strengthened everywhere, even amidst attempts to repress and exterminate them.
In our everyday life, through digital hyperconnectivity, we have normalized the reception of information almost in real time from across the world. We have also normalized the idea that to give a “like” means that we are part of some struggle. This phenomenon is limiting action, it is causing the disappearance of different practices which have always pertained to the pueblos and individuals, and it is disappearing spaces for self-defense and action. With this call, we want to create a space of convergence of internationalist solidarity, to share how we feel, and to get a deeper understanding of struggles in the global south from an anticolonial perspective. We want to unlearn, show solidarity, and liberate ourselves.
We call on the communities in resistance, collectives, individuals, imprisoned people, fugitives, comrades on the run, migrants with and without documents, sexual dissidents, sex worker collectives, searching mothers, autonomies and self-defense groups, occupied spaces, prisoner support collectives, creators and dissident artists, and all those who resist daily and attack power.
We invite you all to contribute with verses, thoughts, feelings, and words to this collection we have named, Roots and Radicality. Roots and Radicality because the roots represent the origin, the collective memory, that is being passed on through the passage of time, influencing the formation of identity and sense of belonging. That is to say, the way in which individuals recognize and understand each other. At the same time, the territory is where the roots live, developing and expressing themselves through different political and sociocultural practices.
So, the radicality is the deep return to the origin, it is like a root that moves through the dirt in search of water, digging deep to connect with memory and territory, seeing clearly what we are and where we come from. It is a form of existing that doesn’t stop at the surface, but that seeks the depths where ideas, identities, and changes are born.
We invite everyone to contribute to this collection of words finally free, incendiary syllables, haikus without haikus, and verses released from the logic of meter, thrown without control toward infinity, free from ownership and commodification. The collected writings will be published in print, in a self-published manner, and will be read in self-organized activities and disseminated amongst those interested and “free.” This includes those who are imprisoned, in psychiatric institutions or migrant detention centers, but also those confined in schools, factories, barrios, and fields, but who still feel free and don’t believe in the illusion that this ecocidal society can continue.

Preparing for the Worst: The Possible Extradition of Gabriel Pombo Da Silva to Italy
In December 2025, our compañero was detained under a European Arrest Warrant (an EAW issued by Italy). The arrest lasted five hours until the Investigating Judge Pedraz granted him provisional release, subject to reporting requirements and prohibition from leaving the country. This European Arrest Warrant derived from one of the many Italian repressive operations: the “Operation Scripta Manent” of 2016, which resulted in Gabriel receiving a two-year prison sentence for incitement to commit a crime in 2022. At the end of November last year, the Turin court announced that the alternative to imprisonment requested by the defense attorney would not be accepted due to a “lack of self-critique of his own values” (a nice way of saying the lack of remorse). This has paved the way for the sentence to be served out in prison. That is why the European Arrest Warrant was issued. Judge Pedraz considered this crime to be one of opinion and therefore did not order imprisonment, instead requesting specific documentation from both parties.
A few days ago, a ruling signed by the same judge was issued. Siding partially with one party and partially with the other, the judicial decision opens up the possibility for Gabriel’s possible extradition to Italy if certain conditions are met.
At the moment, we are not interested in discussing the legal details, although it is interesting to see how the state uses its convoluted “truths” to justify the witch hunt. This is an extremely contradictory ruling filled with lies, where the Italians have played on the psychology of propaganda by extrapolating words and concepts from Gabriel’s conviction to justify their request.
This ruling closes the preliminary investigation. It is not final, and the defense attorney is appealing. Although there are no legal grounds for Gabriel to have to serve the sentence in Italian prisons, it is not complicated to see this ruling as one of the many tactics employed by the Italian state to continue collecting its war trophies.
In a few weeks, the prosecutor and the defense attorney will present their arguments at a hearing in the National Court.
We have always known legal reasons will not prevail, but political and personal revenge will. The dignified fighters have to be punished in an exemplary manner. That is why we are not surprised, and we are preparing for the worst-case scenario, stronger than ever.

Xinachtli Freedom Campaign April Update
"Earlier this month, Xinachtli was transferred from Carole Young Unit to Estelle Unit in Huntsville, Texas.
His condition has worsened since the move. He can no longer walk on his own and has no way to move himself around. He has not received any of his books, letters, or other personal property that should have been transferred with him. He continues to be denied the regular physical therapy, B12 shots, and diet prescribed by UTMB doctors."

Malik Muhammad trasladado a una prisión de Carolina del Sur en un caso excepcional de traslado interestatal
Después de más de una semana sin recibir ninguna respuesta, por fin pudimos localizar a nuestro querido compañero Malik. No conseguimos información del ODOC, la BOP ni de ningún otro departamento carcelario. La única razón por la que pudimos encontrarlo fue porque él nos envió una carta. Todavía no ha podido hablar por teléfono con su abogado.
Malik se encuentra actualmente en una prisión en Carolina del Sur. La ODOC decidió trasladarlo lo más lejos posible de su abogado y su red de apoyo, a otro sistema carcelario estatal situado al otro lado del país. Se trata de un intento de aislar a Malik y desarticular su red de apoyo. Trasladar a un preso de un sistema estatal a otro de esta manera no es común y supone una escalada alarmante.
En el poco tiempo que lleva en Carolina del Sur, Malik ha sufrido un trato terrible: el Departamento Correccional de Carolina del Sur (SCDC) le ha cortado el pelo y lo ha obligado a permanecer en una celda superpoblada donde tiene que dormir en el suelo. Actualmente se encuentra recluido en el Centro de Recepción y Evaluación de Kirkland (un centro de retención) y no tiene ni idea de cuánto tiempo permanecerá allí antes de que lo trasladen a otro lugar. Algunos presos llevan meses y meses allí, con un acceso bastante limitado de cosas básicas como duchas y comunicaciones. La vida en el centro de retención es, en muchos aspectos, tan mala o peor que el régimen de aislamiento, ya que los presos no tienen pertenencias, no hay actividades y apenas tienen oportunidades de salir de sus celdas. Sabemos, por el relato de Casey Goonan sobre su reciente y prolongada estancia en Mendoza, el gran impacto que puede tener este tiempo. No sabemos cuánto tiempo permanecerá Malik en su ubicación actual, pero esperamos que no sea mucho.
El reciente endurecimiento del trato hacia Malik se produce en un momento en que el Estado ha intensificado drásticamente la represión contra los antifascistas. Solo han pasado un par de semanas desde que a resolución del primer juicio de Prairieland demostró que el Estado recurrirá a la tortura, la intimidación y las mentiras descaradas para salirse con la suya a la hora de reprimir el antifascismo y promover su agenda de “alarmismo antifascista.” El traslado de Malik a Carolina del Sur es otro ejemplo más de cómo el Estado los persigue por su identidad y sus ideas antifascistas.

Oregon DOC is actively disappearing Malik Muhammad
"In the wake of a call-in campaign to get Malik out of solitary confinement (once again), something even more alarming happened. On Monday March 30th, 2026, a member of Malik’s support team realized they disappeared from the prison messaging app GettingOut. Similarly the inmate search database for the state of Oregon showed no record of them.
Family and friends have been frantically calling Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution (EOCI) and various contact numbers for Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC). State representatives were very reluctant to provide any information, though one in the Office of Population Management stated that Malik was moved to a “confidential location” but refused to specify where or for what reason."
