India's Environment Ministry has requested Water Ministry to provide advice on how to sustain #environmental flows in the #Chambal #River during the lean season to help River #dolphin. Concerns arose following the initiation of a series of dam constructions over tributaries of #Chambal River- Banas, Kuno, Parbati,&Kalisindh rivers-in MP &Rajasthan. Moreover, no environmental impact assessment has been conducted to evaluate how the project will affect aquatic life.

India's environment ministry @moefcc has approved a proposal from the @assamforest to rationalise the boundary of #Pobitora #Wildlife #Sanctuary (PWS). It will see an exclusion of 471 ha. & an inclusion of 565 ha. in the #Morigaon district. However, the government has asked #Assam govt to prepare #EcoSensitiveZone for PWS

The National #Tiger #Conservation Authority (NTCA) has noted the recent movement of two cheetahs that have dispersed from #Kuno #National #Park in Madhya Pradesh to areas in Rajasthan, describing it as natural behaviour. In the coming months, the NTCA will coordinate with the governments of both states to develop a large corridor landscape that encompasses Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, facilitating inter-state movement of the #cheetahs

Amid concerns of a toxic cloud of black rain drifting towards India, the Indian Meteorological Department is closely monitoring wind patterns. Currently, the wind patterns and their elevation have kept India safe, while affecting regions more heavily in Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, China, and Southeast Asian countries. The NOAA's HYSPLIT model presents three trajectories, all of which veer away from India as of March 9. #iranWar #USIsraelattack #IranVsUSA #iranAttacks

Of the top countries that import oil and gas via the #StraitofHormuz, Japan faces the most direct risk of disruption, due to its high share of oil and gas trade through the shipping route and its reliance on imported oil and gas. South Korea ranks second most at risk, India third and China fourth.
Four Asian countries, China, India, Japan and South Korea, account for 75% of oil and 59% of LNG flows through the Strait. #iran #IranWar2026 #irankrieg

#India and #IranWar
As tensions escalate between the #US, #Israel and #Iran, the implications for #India are immediate and significant — particularly with 20–25% of global crude flowing through the Strait of Hormuz and nearly 90% of India’s oil import dependence
Shipping insurance costs have already jumped 50% overnight. Beyond oil, risks extend to #basmati rice exports, #tea trade, clean energy supply chains, and broader macroeconomic stability. #IranWar #India #Crudeoil #StraitofHormuz

#India is lower riparian with #Nepal like #Pakistan& #Bangladesh to India. So India is keen to revive discussion on water sharing with Nepal. The frosty relations between two countries escalated during the last monsoon when Nepal ceased sharing rainfall data with India, which hampered India’s flood management efforts in Bihar& UP. Earlier, India has remained silent on Nepal’s proposal for regular meetings to discuss the detailed project report (DPR) for the #Pancheshwar dam on the #Mahakali
