The drought stopped most of the Fox And Cubs plants in my front yard from flowering, which was very disappointing. Heath Spotted Orchid (Dactylorhiza maculata) at its only site in the Bath area. Lizard Orchid (Himantoglossum hircinum) at Berrow, Somerset. This species is on the edge of its range here in Britain, but appears to be expanding its range, potentially in response to climate change. This is simultaneously something I've seen many many times (in gardens) and never in my life (in the wild). It appears to be a perfectly normal Broad Bean, except it's not in an allotment or anywhere near one - it was by the pitch at Henley rugby ground.
