I have had this problem with the #qwant search engine recently: It throws a 403, multiple times, so not really useful at the moment. I tried the #noai version of #duckDuckGo, but I don't like it. Now I am testing #startpage, which appears to work fine and have good privacy as well. If you know what is the problem with qwant, I'm courious, though :) I'm using librewolf or zenbrowser mostly. SOLUTION: disable ublock origin on the site. I'm a big fan of that, but qwant does have good privacy afaict ... #webSearch #searchEngines

Learned about Uruky last week and I’ve been trying it out. Seems like a bit worse than Kagi but it’s nice not having LLMs in it and being European-based. #SearchEngines #Privacy #Kagi #Uruky

Да, не расслышал, должно быть "should". Но почему нашел только #Яша, причем только в виде «быстрого ответа» Алисы и одной (!) ссылки на #VK? Остальные — даже по полной корректной (!) фразе выдают максимум сслыки на «помогите с английским»? Что за нахуй, пардон майн френч? P.S. Нуичо что это Dance My Darling из этой страны — типа санкции и знать необязательно? В качестве пруфа прикладываю трек в версии ремикса от Holocoder, #LastFM считает, что его слушает 1 заблудший (?) человек, но на рутрахере раздача на 1,5 гига. ¹ Потому что чебурашки #Hoco играют с карточки, с приложением не коннектятся, так что тупо «режим радио» (что меня вполне устраивает), но иногда хочется найти, «а что это такое я лайкнул».

But it's cluttered with a lot of waste and malicious #web sites and obstructed by search engines that don't surface the stuff that I'd like to find with them. In creating this alternative internet (call it #SmallWeb or whatever) we also have to take care of making it findable. Creating blogrolls and directories, using inline links and link lists as much as possible, sharing OPML files and posting about interesting or important pages is good. But it doesn't help very much in the scenario where someone is using a search engine that seems to almost entirely ignore those indicators of valuable content. So for me the main question currently is: How do we (/I) support alternative #SearchEngines? Or do we have to make us stop using them like we have to abstain from using #BigTech products?

I'm trying to find alternatives for #pinterest and all the LLM-creted articles contain gems such as Inkscape being a great alternative for Pinterest, which as we all know, is a vector drawing program. Like Pinterest. 🤔 It's actually sad and upsetting to watch the ability to search the internet just crumble in front your eyes in almost real time. I've had bad answers before and dealt with it, but this query, I honestly can't see myself climbing the mountain of all the unfactual nonsense DDG is giving me this time. #searchengines #enshittification #internet

If you didn't know already: Don't trust search engines,. I just had #Bing and #MicrosoftCoPilot generate a fake review of a non-existent movie, about two non-existent characters that are themselves flukes of AI/LLM systems, whose concept only existed in the mind of Charlie Stross.
