The claim is Palantir's technology allows major improvements in NHS performance. But, having crunched the numbers the FT has concluded this relies mostly on results from *one* hospital (Chelsea & Westminster Royal United) with only a further four hospitals showing any significant gains at all. A third of all hospital trusts have actually seen a *decline* in performance after deploying Palantir's tech. But of course the successful hospital is near Westminster, odd that! #NHS #Palantir

As Roy Lilley (NHSManagers.net) points out: 'Patients do not experience separate targets. They experience one NHS. Success should be measured by whether it becomes easier & faster for patients to move through it'. This is right on the button; while seeming to offer a strategic handle on the NHS actually targets often distort & compromise the patients' actual experience of health care. Too often targets are used to obscure a lack of understanding to the real problems! #NHS #Health #politics

#PullThePlug on #Palantir Demonstration #Manchester 8am June 11th "the Manchester Central Convention Complex is hosting the #NHS ConfedExpo - the biggest NHS Conference of the year. This ConfedExpo will be the last one before the UK government could terminate its contract with Palantir and use the break clause early next year. We'll be outside of the conference to make our voices clear - we back the break clause and want Palantir out of our NHS!" Is Peter Thiel’s Palantir the most evil company in the world …. along with all the other “tech-bro” $billionaire outfits?

Quite possibly!

Seems the Israel lobby now controls the NHS staffing policy. "NHS staff could be barred from wearing.. pro Palestinian symbols on their uniforms ... [this] is one of several recommendations in a review into antisemitism within the NHS" Something tells me the yellow ribbon wouldn't fall into the necessary category. #UKPolitics #FriendsOfGenocide #NHS

MPs want Palantir OUT of the NHS and the UK public sector! ORG has long warned about our dependency on Big Tech – from vendor lock-in to security risks from foreign-owned companies. 🆕 blog! “NHS Goes To War Against Open Source” The NHS is preparing to close nearly all of its Open Source repositories. Throughout my time working for the UK Government - in GDS, NHSX, i.AI, and others - I championed Open Source. I spoke to dozens of departments about it, wrote guidance still in use today, and briefed Ministers on why it was so… 👀 Read more: https://shkspr.mobi/blog/2026/05/nhs-goes-to-war-against-open-source/#government #nhs #OpenSource #politics

The problem with our dependency on Big Tech is evident in Palantir's NHS contract. Signing up to a 'subscription service' for one company's exclusive software leaves us with nothing when we end the contract. With open source, we don't have to start again with a new platform when changing vendors. https://www.theregister.com/2026/04/20/palantir_nhs_break_clause/ #BigTech #palantir #nhs #DigitalSovereignty #opensource #UnplugBigTech #ukpolitics #ukpol

Handing out contracts to Big Tech platforms is a rip off. If we don't like the over-charging, tax-dodging and exporting profits overseas, we face the nightmare of vendor lock-in. They own the software, so love it or lose it. We call for UK Digital Sovereignty to turn the tide. This website is an eye opener. It shows how much profit is being ripped out of the NHS by privatised healthcare. You can put in your postcode and it shows how much your local area is losing. #NHS #Privatisation https://www.nhsprofitmap.org.uk/

Watching ministers talk about NHS data strategy is like watching someone confidently rewire a house with no understanding of electricity. The language sounds polished, the reassurances are endless, but the substance just isn’t there. Choosing a company like Palantir isn’t a neutral technical decision. It’s a long-term structural commitment with real implications for control, access, and public trust. Yet it’s presented as a simple procurement exercise. And when political careers move on, as they always do, there’s rarely any reckoning for decisions that reshape public infrastructure for decades. That asymmetry should concern everyone. #technology #surveillance #nhs #politics #ice #ethics #society #data Palantir: NHS pilot’s “success” is questioned as second figure at major trust is linked to the tech giant | The BMJ https://www.bmj.com/content/393/bmj.s680

We know that the NHS has a (partially hidden) culture of management bullying, so we might have expected that those staff criticising the use of Palantir in the NHS (on which I posted a couple of weeks ago) might be subject to managerial pressure... and sure enough they have been. The FT reports analysts complaining about Palantir have been threatened with the sack if they do not buckled down & use the disputed technology. Unsurprising but unwelcome & divisive! #Palantir #NHS #health

The NHS is (and has been for such a long time) suffering budgetary constraints, but now we know where a slice of that shortfall is going: In two years private health providers made £1.6bn in profits from their work in the NHS. Supporters of private provision will claim that money is a reward for extra productivity & efficiency; more realistically we know these firms are cherry-picking treatments & transferring patients back to the NHS when problems arise. #NHS #health https://www.theguardian.com/society/2026/apr/13/private-companies-nhs-services-profit-chpi-research

Having awarded a major contract to (controversial) data firm Palantir, a growing number of NHS staff are refusing to work with the firm's tools for ethical reasons, with wider passive resistance to its deployment. One manger said: 'People are saying, ‘I refuse to work on this software. You have to find something else for me to do’... They’re calling it a workplace adjustment. [as] if you were disabled & needed a different desk, they’re literally treating it like that'!  #NHS #Palantir h/t FT

BlackRock, an American company who donated to Trump's election campaign, are buying up GP surgeries in the UK then increasing rents, taking more money from the NHS for CEO and shareholder profit. I just signed the petition. https://weownit.org.uk/act-now/blackrock-nhs-not-for-sale Note my charity transferred from BlackRock share management over a year ago because we favour ethical investing and they'd decided to support Trump. (Using profits from our money to support any politician wasn't in line with our policies.) #NHS

Thank god! Signs that the lights are coming on re Palantir and the NHS. ‘a growing recognition that the issue of Palantir and potential reputation risk had moved beyond the Labour left and Greens, who have led criticism in the past’ ‘When you look at some of the things Palantir’s leaders have said in the States, when you look at their political views and their outlook … If you were to put [Thiel] and some of those Palantir bosses on the political spectrum in the UK, they would be well off to the right of even Kemi Badenoch’s Conservative party’ Let’s get them out of our data https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/mar/31/palantir-uk-boss-louis-mosley-ministers-nhs-contract #nhs #palantir #peterthiel #wesstreeting #nationalhealthservice #health #uk #guardian #ukpolitics #data #ai
