Do you find it annoying when socks don't even last a single decade before getting holes in them? I used to sew them back together, but I recently realized that I don't need to. Socks tend to get thinner as they age and develop holes in different places. By wearing two socks on a single foot, the holes in each one are covered by the other and the overall thickness is correct. My partner has listened to me boast about this discovery one too many times, so I thought I should share it with Mastodon instead. #mending #sewing #clothing #socks

“Companies have started incorporating “adversarial patterns” in their garments – carefully designed arrangements of shapes, colours and repeated motifs said to exploit weaknesses in some #ComputerVision systems. The designers say advances in #computing have made it easier to incorporate such patterns into commercially viable garments. Experts caution that the effectiveness of the patterns depends on the #surveillance system and the conditions in which it is used, but #NickTidball, the co-founder of the clothing brand Vollebak, thinks “adversarial clothing” could be on the cusp of going mainstream. “#AntiSurveillance feelings are so widespread that all it would take is for a single celebrity to wear one of these garments, currently popular in the #countercultural fashion world, to a high-profile event for it to take off,” he said.” #Textiles / #clothing / #blending / #camouflage

Then she #reviews new #orders, messages her co-worker and begins preparing another collection of #Kurdish-inspired #clothing, hoping the power and #internet will not disappear before the day is over.

The forest was thick and thriving. The intense smell of blooming flowers was stronger than anywhere else. The sun shafts barely breaking through leaves and branches gave extraordinary, magical atmosphere. #aiart #plants #forest #photography #beauty #boots #clothing #cute #cuteadorable #ginger #glamour #gloves #laughing #outfit #overalls #photorealistic #portrait #rainsuit #redhead #rubber #rubbersuit #wellies #workwear #rainwear

Did you know that you can extend these ridiculously small front pockets on your yeans by haphazardly attaching some scrap fabric? And that you can do a ridiculously terrible job at it, because nobody will ever see it? (except the fediverse)? I could barely put half of my hand in there, now I can carry my phone in it. WHY are pockets on clothes designed for females so insanely small? Make it make sense to me (is it the patriarchy? sexism? whyyy?)... #clothing #sewing #pockets #garmenthacking #diy

Everybody is not Grace Brett! But without being her, or without her talent, trying to make something #elastic for a #hat with #cotton with #crochet techniques, because of commercial ****t is not durable and adapted for cycling. Speaking about winter, share https://gaza-verified.org - people like @Rania@freesewing.social know how to work with these techniques. You have two reasons to share my message ,o) #gaza #diy #basteln #clothing #knitting #GraceBrett #clothes
