I guess it's time for an updated #Introduction: 🥁 Dear Fediverse! 🎶 I am a #composer of #theatre music and #filmmusic, living in the lovely woods of Asker, Norway. I've been lucky enough to make a living from this for 20 years, and constantly want to reinvent myself musically, or else I get bored real quickly. During one year, one project could be scored with a chamber orchestra, but the next one might be banjo punk. I was a pretty decent drummer once, but too impatient to stay in one band for very long. Today, I might release the occasional solo album or EP, but most of my releases are #soundtrack albums. As a music listener I'm into everything from #Bach to #Dvorak to #Genesis to #RATM, and everything in-between. 💿 I am #actuallyautistic and #ADHD. I have a four year old kid who I love more than the universe itself. I obsess over #StarWars and #EdvardGrieg more than what is probably considered healthy. I buy lots of CDs at flea markets and organise them all onto my wonderful #Plex server (another obsession!) Grew up with 90s PC adventure games from the likes of #LucasArts, and wish I had time to complete all those games I never got to finish, and replay all the ones I did. Thank heavens for @scummvm@manitu.social 👾 I detest fascist man-babies and evil tech-bros. In a continuous #degoogle process, one step at a time. #genesis #horizons #bach My current obsession being listening to the Genesis album Foxtrot, I really love the track ‘Horizons’ (*really*, like play-at-my-funeral love), but it has a familiarity I couldn’t put my finger on. Found out it was ‘heavily inspired’ by Bach’s Prelude from Suite No 1 in G Major for solo cello.

Something for the weekend. For sure one of the finest pieces of music ever written, maybe even the best. It is on the Voyager-disk to represent humanity and rightfully so. One of six concertos Bach wrote for Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg, in 1721 most likely in the town of Köthen. Unusual for the time was the use of instruments. The trumpet was generally reserved for military music, but not the salons of the high society. This makes the use of trumpet in this second Brandenburg Concerto an anomaly, shaping the direction of the piece in striking fashion. Unusual in and of itself is the combination of the four solo instruments; alto recorder, violin, oboe, and trumpet – which compete in a virtuosic fugue in the outer movements. The Orchestra Mozart was founded in 2004 to give talented young musicians the opportunity to play in a world-class orchestra with a world-class conductor. Claudio Abbado (1933-2014) is considered one of the greatest conductors of all time. In 2011, the music magazine “Classic Voice” named Abbado the most important of the top 100 living conductors. He was born into a family of musicians in Milan, Italy, on June 26, 1933. After studying conducting, piano and composition at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, he continued at the Vienna Music Academy. In 1968 Abbado became chief conductor at the Milan Scala. In the subsequent years, he was to be seen on the world’s great concert stages, in Milan, London and Chicago. After giving his debut at the Vienna State Opera in 1984, he was named the city’s general music director. In October 1989, the members of the Berlin Philharmonic elected him artistic director, succeeding Herbert von Karajan. He remained in Berlin until 2002. Abbado died in Bologna on January 20, 2014, aged 80, after a long battle with cancer.
