#Meta executives initially denied the existence of a #facialrecognition feature, #NameTag, in their #AIGlasses. However, CTO Andrew Bosworth later described the feature in detail, contradicting previous statements. The feature, which would be encrypted and localised to the user’s device, aims to help users remember people they’ve met, addressing the “cocktail party problem.“ https://futurism.com/artificial-intelligence/meta-exec-describes-facial-recognition-feature?

#Meta #AIGlasses #Hack

The trick Meta doesn’t want you to know about... If you have a pair of Meta AI glasses, pop them in the microwave for five minutes on full power and you’ll significantly boost the camera’s resolution. The explanation is simple: the radiation emitted by your microwave splits the pixels on the camera sensor, allowing them to split 2, 3, up to 4 times. This is what manufacturers do to create models with different resolutions (and prices!) but with identical hardware. Get the best resolution for free! Thanks to https://social.heise.de/@vowe/11692838 for this tip. #Meta #AIGlasses #Hack

Meta announced a fix so your smart glasses can't be secretly used to record people. Same week, it's testing "always-on" glasses that record everyone, all the time, and may not even light the warning LED. Same week, Instagram opted your public photos into AI image generation by default. 🤔 https://blog.ppb1701.com/always-on-always-watching #meta #google #ai #aiglasses #smartglasses #privacy #bigtech #surveillance #userhostile #blog

Meta says its AI glasses now disable the camera if the capture LED is blocked, physically tampered with, or destroyed. The white blinking light has no off switch, which is apparently what counts as trust in 2026: a tiny corporate halo with enforcement teeth. 😼 https://about.fb.com/news/2026/07/metas-ai-glasses-your-questions-answered/ #Meta #AIGlasses #Privacy

From navigation to cheating in exams, early adopters of AI glasses in China are renting them for as little as $6 a day. Some models offer live translation, real-time calorie tracking, and theater-like movie experiences, but not everyone is sold on the new tech, even as the government encourages citizens to buy it. https://flip.it/S5xbth #AI #AIGlasses #TechNews #Tech
