@nrc_nl@mastodon.nl Het gaat niet alleen langs de servers van Meta, Meta claimed ook het recht om van alles met de verzamelde data te mogen doen, die alleen maar kunnen als er expliciete, geïnformeerde toestemming is van de mensen die in beeld zijn. Maar die "toestemming" wordt gegeven door de ik-heb-niets-te-verbergen-dus-anderen-ook-niet-eindgebruiker. Daarom zijn deze brillen vrijwel niet legaal te gebruiken. Was Ihr hier auf der Arbeitsunterlage seht, ist eine #RayBan Clubmaster mit schwarzem Acetat-Oberrand, die ich gerade verglast habe. Das ist ein Klassiker. Der Metallrand bestand früher aus Gold-Doublé und die Acetatteile waren aus der Platte gefräst. Heute: Oberrand wabbeliger Spritzguss und Metall aus goldfarbenem (nicht vergoldetem) Monel, butterweich. Kosten der Fassung: ca. € 165,- Rausgeschmissenes Geld. Just saying. 🤷🏻‍♂️ #Augenoptik

"The social media giant Meta partnered with controversial TV personality and cosmetics mogul Kylie Jenner for the design and marketing of an “entry-level” line of its widely criticized camera glasses late last month. The collaborative campaign quickly provoked a wave of public backlash over unresolved concerns about privacy, consent, and personal safety as surveillance technology rapidly evolves. Based in the United Kingdom, the class-based activism group Everyone Hates Elon (EHE) visualized those concerns in a lenticular spoof ad that, based on where a viewer is standing, flips between a branded marketing photo of Jenner wearing a pair of Meta glasses and a black-and-white image showing a skeletal, X-ray version of her with the tagline “We’re always watching.” The transformation element and the poster design appear to reference the politically charged sci-fi film They Live (1988), in which the main character encounters a pair of sunglasses that not only expose the extractive messaging of advertisements but reveal that humanity is being controlled, subdued, and exploited by a secret population of aliens masquerading as people. Just met my first #glasshole in person Asked him why he was wearing them He said he'd "the feeling he needs them" because you can hear music with them ¯\(°_o)/¯ And saw no problem with #privacy at all - from what he'd said he didn't know the concept... Got a bit pissed that I asked him, bc he saw it as "his decision" & "freedom" to wear a piece of surveillance tech in his face How do you guys act in situations like this? Goed. De RayBan Meta bril waar Pearl zo trots op is. Van de week onderstaande klacht ingediend: Ik ben echt bijzonder onaangenaam verrast door jullie samenwerking met Meta. Die AI brillen van ze zijn een grove inbreuk op de privacy. En wat je al had kunnen verwachten gebeurt nu. De brillen worden ook voorzien van face recognition software.
