@kernellogger@hachyderm.io lol okay so I had to check, and the first page of the memory models section in the SPARC v9 book talks about having to support TSO for compatibility.

The anti-housing people sending me flyers in the mail claim one place is "mostly studios; 80% luxury". I don't think I've ever seen anything I'd call a Luxury (393sqft) Studio... Also the filed plans have 8 studio, 20 one bedroom, and 6 two bedroom units. It looks decent for small apartments.

@adamw@fosstodon.org I think it means "the construction is nicer than my century-old house down the block". Worth noting that they can't really easily airbnb-these - Cambridge has a rule that basically says you have to live next door if you have a majority-STR property, which I think in this case means you'd have to live in the building.

Today in being forced to use LLMs because "vulnerability" disclosures have been produced by them: no version numbers or git revisions anywherethe reports are malformed markdown which has then been filed into a jira ticket which doesn't accept markdown anywayMany of the CVSS scores look like: "CVSS:3.1/AV/AC:L/..." where it should be "AV:L", but the bot, which again only knows statistically what a CVSS score looks like, is generating gibberish.the diffs for "suggested fixes" have been generated by something that doesn't actually know anything about how diffs are formed, either in terms of process or meaningfully in structure:they're missing file names, line numbers, and function namesall leading whitespace, including after "-" or "+" line markers, is missingin some of the diffs, hyphens (especially for delete lines) are just missing? But sometimes "--" has been combined to "—" I want my money back.

@Kevin@doyle.boston @adamw@fosstodon.org especially since... like it's not like you can't see any apartment buildings from 406 Broadway. There's a row of them across the street. I do wonder why 405 is blurred out on street view.

Saw The Odyssey. Without spoiling anything, what I'll say is that if you film in 70mm and do a lot of wide open night closeup shots, you're gonna have a bunch of shots of faces that are halfway out of focus.

@penguin42@mastodon.org.uk @yrabbit@mastodon.sdf.org iirc it's slightly crazier than that - it's not symmetric. it fits either way, but different pins attach in a different order (the standard length thing basically) and the pin definitions are more or less negotiated after insertion.

@spacerog@mastodon.social @matthegap@chaos.social But like what I said before, if you don't know that "responsible disclosure" might be a compound noun that means a specific thing, and instead (fairly reasonably) read "responsible" as an adjective, then it doesn't necessarily imply that to the speaker.

@zwol@hackers.town you can literally make an isofs with completely different contents based on if you read as big endian or little - which in no way is guaranteed to match what order your hardware is using for registers or whatever.

@dalias@hachyderm.io @darwinwoodka@mastodon.social @aharper@mstdn.social @mattdm@hachyderm.io While I agree that in many circumstances bollards are great, and we definitely under-use them here in the USA, if your go-to for cars hitting houses and businesses is bollards, you may be over-focusing on a specific solution. In general "design streets for safer outcomes" is right though - just there are lots of other ways to make streets safer that we often don't utilize, and in many cases bollards too are far later than the appropriate intervention. You might also have more in common with Oscar Newman than you're comfortable with.
