It's the foundation everything else sits on." 🔥 For a long time now - since before any of us existed - people have been treating earth like a canvas or a world to dominate. It can be neither of these things. Extinction of homo sapiens is fully possible. I don't know how long it will take, but I'd rather not subject ourselves to the misery. You? Many an indigenous community of Turtle Island has treated earth with the respect it demands, has shown us what we have to do, how we must be. New England folks, NOW is the time to make sure your windows are closed for the day. If it faces sun, I’d encourage you to draw down the blinds or curtains. If you leave windows open to hot outdoor air then it will likely become much, MUCH harder to cool things off for bedtime. #airQuality #heat #heatwave

This is incredible. I want to share about the work that Allie O'Brien is up to, as primary elections continue in the U.S.

Allie is someone I've followed for a while now. They made a map of viable progressive candidates. I believe California wrapped up voting yesterday, sadly, but numerous other communities still have an opportunity to get solid people into the race - people who will actually fight for us.

I don't know that I can support Graham Platner at this point, but it could be that people are making a good argument for them.

This #Pride Month, can we highlight teams that embrace queer people? I don't mean they're happy to include gay white men. I mean groups that GET IT, that we simply cannot afford to manage optics or accept tokenism for long. Surface level performance alone will fail us all.
Do you know of a team that kept DEI throughout the pandemic, throughout the Trump election? A group that actually plans to be around for a while?

What do we make of Mayor Wu shutting down the office of green infrastructure? While there is certainly work to do in the private sector, I feel disappointed considering she looks to have also pumped the brakes on common sense transportation work. (And I’ve heard from multiple sources that this is true.)

A number of the big projects on this Newsweek list are atrocious for air quality (data centers, fossil fuel processing...) but here are two that I feel excited about.

Who here is from California, Las Vegas, or the U.S. east coast? Is America about to get it's first high speed rail?!

A lot of people don't know this, but trees provide shade AND air conditioning ❄️

This doesn't mean plant them willy-nilly, but that a good, healthy tree in the right place has a *massive* positive benefit. Yay learning!

How's everyone doing with their allergies today? Thankfully I don't have much sensitivity but it sounds like tree pollen has been Extreme, so I hope people are okay. An N95 mask can help if you need to be outside at all
