Well that’s a first. #Amtrak 687 just left Boston North Station without any passengers. Announced delay, eventually announced gate, then slowly left as we all walked up to board. Weirdest thing. I dropped my 17YO granddaughter off at the #Eugene #Amtrak station today for her to return home. When her train rolled in, I was distressed to see such a ragged out, worn, dented, greasy, poor excuse for a train. All the cars and both engines (pusher and puller) looked like they had not been washed since 1983. Having ridden the Frecciarossa fast trains in Italy (300 Km/h) and several sparkling and fast German and French trains, I was embarrassed by the #train the U.S. of A has to offer.
