oof, are there any decent alternatives to AnySoftKeyboard?

i'm starting to get tired of how quirky and buggy it,is (and that it doesn't let me change the colour of the keyboard - it can dynamically change it bu me manually deciding i'd like it to be green is too hard???)

but its also gotten so unreliable, i can kV aarely use it to type in search queries without having spurious spaces or doubled up letters or word segments :<

and the latest update pushed the whole keyboard up by 5mm?

@ada we have a backup we even tested restoring the backup after a simulated data loss (we shut down our nas) it has recently slowed down to 3Mb/s and has not finished a full backup since we now have to do extra work figuring out why our backups are broken and possibly spend extra money fixing them
