Spectacle complains that KWin compositor isn't available even though I use KDE. I guess I'll relegate this account into my solutions dump, like a scratch paper, so uhh starting now, I've found that sometimes the "portal" for selecting a window for screen sharing doesn't pop up on KDE sometimes when I'm using OBS Running "systemctl --user restart pipewire.socket xdg-desktop-portal.service" fixes it. I use Arch, btw. I might investigate this problem when it pops up again cos it happens randomly... #archlinux #kde #wayland #linux #freesofware #opensource

I use tags in other places on the net to find what I'm looking for. Sometimes I go overboard but my posts disappear in a week anyway so I don't end up cluttering other instances of my posts I'm sorta torn apart between using and not using tags. Some people still get interaction without ever using tags #mastodon

Also one thing I noticed here on Mastodon yesterday is that fav and boost counts don't always match up on every instance. I could definitely have > 0 favs and boosts on other mastodon instances but it's just not reflected here. I like to think that while I visibly have 0 favs and boosts here on this instance, there's like 20 people who see my stuff on other instances and also fav and/or boost 'em. It helps me to think I'm not "screaming to the void" haha, idk. #mastodon

Did I get that right? Also sorry if I sent you the barrages of posts. I didn't look up what wet bulb temp meant and relied on experience...

Also your comfort level. It's as important as water. Some people have very different levels of comfort. I don't like anything below 15C but some people like below 15C. 20 - 32C is my sweet spot for comfort but some people might find anything above 25 - 30C too hot. And yes more fans isn't gonna work cos I don't have money I can comfortably spend anymore

Some don't but instead have shades and trees placed around If malls ain't a thing or it's too far, those hardware stores with a big ass ceiling fan could work. Just pretend you're browsing in either of those places, look "busy" so people don't bother you But seriously I just adapted to the heat. It took some years and I actually got sunburnt without even having direct sunlight exposure but if you think your body can handle it, take it as a challenge but don't forget water. Always drink water.

Just get the air moving is what I'm saying. Get them moving. If it's still hot, then it's time to get out and find a tree shade to chill at, while bringing a fan to circulate the air. That's one of my backup plans. AC feels really good but when you get out of the place that has AC, you'll immediately feel the heat covering your entire body If tree shade isn't working and there's literally no natural wind blowing, then it's time to uhh.. walk to the mall and chill there. Malls have AC.

But let's say I can sweat normally, like I said, I'd just go downstairs, drink some water, open those windows and doors, ventilate the whole place, take a bath that isn't too cold or hot then wear very minimal clothing, like just wear only boxer shorts. Light breathable clothing helps but any kind of shirt makes me feel that formication thing, y'know, creepy crawly feelings when you wear something..

Idk I've adapted to the heat cos I lived in a tropical part of the world for 5 years so I'm used to it. It was consistenly above 35C at daytime, sometimes 40C and the highest temp I experienced is 43C. Summers were always hot and humid so yeah... Yeah I know fans start blowing hot air around those temps that's why I go downstairs cos it's where the cold air is at.

@beeps@social.beeps.gay I experienced this sort of "transition" from heat exhaustion to heat stroke some years ago. I fell asleep at a 110 °F heat and It was afternoon. I woke up at around 1 AM. I wasn't sweating anymore, felt dizzy with a throbbing headache but I still had a cool skin. I feel like my legs would cramp anytime at that moment too. I was never hungry for water until that moment.

Some people "look" 40 but you'll discover that they're actually 60, and there's also some that are relatively young, like 30 but look like in their 50's. Most likely because of work & stress or facial hair. People tell me I look 40 because of my facial hair, like whaat? No I don't. I'm 24 ! I was 18 years old 6 years ago. Another 6 years and I'm 30, and I already have some gray hairs. I still look brown from afar so yeah.

I can then block a domain the app is contacting, block the entire app from using the net while I still have wifi or data active and some more stuff. It's really useful to me cos it's also like a Little Snitch or pihole but runs in your phone and just has more features. It's also free and open source. https://github.com/celzero/rethink-app

I got sum pictures but I'm kinda lazy to pull them from my phone but yeah the thing can now recharge batteries itself and can also charge other stuff though it has trouble charging powerbanks through C to C cables. It gets confused...

Whatever depression was, it feels nothing. 4 years passed before I came back to social media. I haven't had friends for 6 years. Also discovered my parents don't care if I live or die a year ago haha I honestly don't know why I'm still kicking and just having fun. We're not really rich, but yeah.
