Mastodon has made it easy to purge my feed of "friends" who couldn't vote for Kamala or Biden but who instead touted Jill Stein and RFK Jr. as the people who could save us from a second Trump adminstration. I miss some of the folks in my old "walled garden on the internet," but I don't miss having to try to listen to that kind of whack job and pretend to have respect for them.

Thus they usher in the back-door of pseudo-reasoning and pseudo-science the ancient divine right of kings and slit the throat of any who would argue enlightenment principles of common good for all.

i boost too much because? too passive? too opportunistic? does it make me friends or build community? does it make my world a better place? yours? but in /this/ context, "mastodon," "the fediverse," aren't boosts how it works? instead of some formula uplifting content, we lift it ourselves, for and to ourselves and anyone who can see us? is that how this is supposed to work?
