Totally legitimate fear, we've seen too many great open source software become enshittified.
We are actually starting to think about a legal structure to ensure Navidrome remains open-source and community-centric. What other open-source software have you seen do this well that we could learn from?

The best part of Navidrome is that you're in control: don't like AI? Navidrome ships free of AI features. You do want AI to perform some tasks for you? Add it in, it's up to you.
For example, there's AudioMuse-AI, an open-source, Dockerized environment that brings automatic playlist generation to your self-hosted music library--including on Navidrome!
Good overview of the pros and cons of self-hosting.
Self-hosting is not for everyone, but if you have the technical capacity and the time, the benefits--control, autonomy, and privacy--make it totally worth it!

🚀 Navidrome version 0.61 🚀
Major updates:
- Artwork overhaul: per-disc cover art, artist image uploads, animated image preservation, and a faster image pipeline powered by WebP encoding. You can now upload custom artwork for playlists, artists, and internet radios directly from the UI, and multi-disc albums will automatically pick up disc-specific cover images.
