I guess I’m starting to encounter and more importantly recognize music?crap! generated by #ai. Not that difficult if you ask me - if you ever played any instrument and have a more or less trained ear - not a big deal. Sounds totally artificial.

Something new on the bench - Raspberry Pi 400. This one had a broken micro SD card latch, so I had to replace the slot with a brand new one. Luckily I bought a few for a Jetson Nano back in a day and they are exactly the same ✅.

Then - as always - I ran a stress test and my god this thing has amazing cooling - that internal heatsink is the best mechanism I've ever seen on a Raspberry Pi - 40°C at max load. Wow 🤩.

Checking out #DietPi on #Radxa Rock 4B+ - it works surprisingly well and I adore how much effort devs put into making the tools for the system’s personalization. It’s easier than ever to install needed packages and even choose a GUI. Cool 🙌🏻

@Judeau @maxalmonte14 sadly I totally agree - even if assembly lines will ramp up and produce more RAM and SSDs - AI companies will just buy more for more data centers. In space, under water, down your street - every freaking where. I’m 100% sure it’s the end of personal computing era as we knew it.

Been to the cinema just now watching #ProjectHailMary.

Cool, but here’s what I thought: if only there was some kind of a #service that offers movies with real deep scientific context… Movies, that would not only let you experience emotions, but also teach you something new on a serious level.

Would you subscribe if it had movies with both a decent story and, say, deep cuts on #engineering ,#electronics , #chemistry, #biology and so on?

Who knows - maybe someday #AI will be offering lthat.

Me: how about having some unnecessary #BGA #soldering practice in the shape of upgrading #RAM on a #Radxa 4B Plus from 2GB to 4GB? 🤣

Well that did not go as planned.

I used Samsung K4F6E3S4HMMGCJ 2GB RAM chips from #RaspberryPi 4B. With those Radxa would power on, but won't boot and won't go into recovery mode. Only Maskrom works but I wasn't able even to flash a firmware.

Originally it has two HYNIX H9HCNNN8KUMLHR-NME chips - I wonder what makes those different... 🤔

@tojiro don’t mean to be the one who ruins the party, so please don’t get me wrong, but I’m genuinely interested in the following as I’m thinking of purchasing similar setup at some point:

How long will it take to get a full ROI on panels+batteries+EV?
And will your panels and batteries actually remain intact/relevant/usable by then?
If not or not sure - how much would it cost to recycle and replace this setup and how much money/time to get full ROI that adds to the equation?
