After a big first gathering last month (we feel already a little less isolated!), we again invite all AI critical and AI abolitionist groups/activists/individuals to our joint networking + strategy meeting in Copenhagen. Newcomers welcome!

Our aims for the meeting: keep building our network; work towards strategic alignment; establish working groups for concrete actions (AI-free zones, workplace organizing, art installations, ...).

Our aims beyond the meeting: conscientiously objecting, rejecting, resisting and dismantling AI. If you are reading this message, you're invited to come!

Malmö Järnhandel is a small independent iron monger that has been in the city center for the last fifteen years. The store was known for its "tool pool", you can go there to borrow any kind of power tool for free! The owners are retiring and have put the shop up for sale. A group is now raising funds to take it over run it as a co-operative to make sure this type of store and the tool pool can remain part of the community!

Join us for a series of three workshops for young people – activists, students and other members of civil society – to address the socio-ecological crisis facing our society, help identify alternatives to it and strategies for how to get there.

The first workshop will explore the economic roots of current socio-ecological problems, addressing the roles of economic growth, #technology and #capitalism and their impacts in countries in both the Global North and the Global South.

The second workshop will explore alternatives to our current economic system, starting with a presentation on #degrowth followed by a panel discussion with local initiatives and organisations who are already doing things differently.

The third workshop will focus on different strategies for socio-ecological #transformation

Tuesday's screening had an example of grass roots struggle for economic democracy from Italy:

A profitable factory creating bar shafts for Maseratis is shut down by investors, organized workers campaign to socialize and retool the plant. Rather than luxury goods they aim to create photovoltaics and cargo bikes.There is large popular support, but local power brokers are thwarting the model. Economic democracy is anathema to capitalism. Europe seeks to reindustralize by re-armament, the ex-GKN workers propose a different model.
