@openrightsgroup@social.openrightsgroup.org Every time I’ve dealt with the ICO I’ve found they just wave the issue away without doing anything. I’d be interested in seeing the people replaced more than the organisation. If they rebrand it with the same people in it, they’ll just default to the same behaviour.

If you’re one of those people who hovers and chats to people in cafes, or has a loud phone call on speakerphone when you’re sat by yourself, consider that some people around you aren’t taking up the entire space because they have sound sensitivity and are trying to get five minutes peace. #autism #meltdown Take your call outside, and talk at a level the other person can hear you - not the entire cafe. Bubbly personalities are not a defence for a lack of manners.

@akareilly@hachyderm.io Until I learned how to use the CLI, I found the documentation impenetrable. I couldn't figure out how to install things in the first place. It was like the programmers all thought "Surely they know how to install a program to use this." - Yet they were all installed using different methods. Luckily now we have package managers, but documentation still sucks.

These agents are able to write scripts, but if I were to ask it to do something 100 other people had asked before, it can’t access and produce a script it has written before. It re-designs the wheel over and over.

@EdTheDev@infosec.exchange I run my own web servers (3) with a mixture of websites, XMPP, Home Assistant and Nextcloud on them. On my limited hardware I couldn’t run a media service. Wish I could run something, but I think even federated video sharing is beyond my equipment. Oh and I have a metered Internet connection.

It doesn’t guess, and you’re right that it doesn’t know. The people behind it however, do know. You pull inaccurate data offline if you care, leave it if you don’t, or tell the AI to be malicious if you want and it will do as it’s told, much of the time. So what I was saying is, they either don’t care because it’s unattended, or they do and it’s intentional.

I don’t want to attribute maliciousness to their actions, but if most of the people they’re quoting don’t exist, it sounds like more than a simple issue such as the AI being out-of-date based on when it was trained. It’s either producing so much content a few fake people are sneaking in, or a few articles with clearly misleading information. Both are bad.

@theogrin@chaosfem.tw Cloudflare has a lot of anti-AI built into it that can be enabled. Having said that, it means you’re putting a lot of trust in another big corporation, and a system that is proprietary, for defence.
