Five Star Legendary 1.1

Added support for Catalyst apps (iOS apps ported to macOS via Mac Catalyst).
Added View / "Show only ignored apps", which displays hidden apps so their ignored state can be reset. Before this change you could only reset the entire list.

Essential tip from @osxdaily@mastodon.social to remove the super bright HDR effects iOS 26 introduced on default action elements (increased light intensity on suggested actions).

If you are light-sensitive, this toggle is essential:

It is possibly better to turn it off generally. The default action is often not what you intended, and the ultra brightness steals all attention.

I made an app!

After reading a post about App Store review prompts by @stroughtonsmith@mastodon.social, I woke up in the middle of the night with a different idea: Something that would allow users to leave supportive reviews quickly and easily.

“Five Star Legendary” lists all your installed apps, sorted by last used or last updated, and takes you straight to the corresponding Mac App Store page with one click.

I used the Double XP event to reach the 4k XP cap per kill. Normally I never grind at the West Tek research center, but beeing so close to this milestone, I simply couldn't resist.

West Tek is one of the few instanced buildings with guaranteed respawns which makes it ideal for grinding XP, if you can handle the Super Mutants :P

When I’m using software, I usually already have the next step in mind: E.g. “Export to file” right now AND THEN do x. My train of thought moves on while the current command is still executed. When an (to me) unpredictable modal appears arecognizepplication task finishes, it interrupts my AND THEN.

I'm simply not compatible with this, but I recognize that it's super important to get ratings.

@robotspacer@xoxo.zone I just read on a German IT news site that it wasn't just about certs, Apple even bumped the version number! Apparently it has to do with recompiling the bytecode, but it's not clear yet. Important reminder who runs the show at the AppStore.

Four years ago today, I contracted #Covid and was turned into a different person. As time passed, I realized that I wasn't just exhausted at my core but that everything before 2022 was suddenly a distant memory, like a blissful childhood long gone.

Now life is burdened, devoid of spontaneity: every action drains energy, demanding constant planning - as if living under crushing gravity. When you're constantly tired, nothing feels real.

And yet, in this bleakness, I press on.

@grumpygamer Programming solo is a major factor - it lets you really test whether a tool fits your workflow. Things work differently in large teams where managers only see magic. As a solo dev, I've been through this phase myself. I know how to use AI for my purposes and conscience. And sometimes babysitting helps me reflect on my mental model. Ditching owned/any code is a vital part. I'm aware of the privileged position I'm in. Next gen won't have the prior knowledge and require AI.

@siracusa Thanks for sharing. It's important that others learn about this. Soon it will be 4 years since I was diagnosed with ME/CFS. It's hard to describe how extreme this condition is. The hurdles are very individual, but the brutal crashes are identical for most of my fellow sufferers. I don't see a real way out, but it is possible to adapt to a certain extent and live a life. At least for me. Thank you also for your podcast work, it gives me more stability than you can imagine.
