@Noisecolor@toot.community same! i don't know shit about fuck, but i learned how containers worked (in principle,) and i learned how VMs worked, and then started using ai to write me yaml and help with with command line stuff. i also use/ask it for documentation of what's been done and what is outstanding as next steps, it kind of acts like a receipt that i then archive. i end up with a current snapshot and a history of all the shit i did . i then use that output, to start next sessions with whatever ai

@wojtek@social.vivaldi.net yeah it was pretty great, until being immutable becomes annoying. When installing, it asks you if you want to launch to desktop or big picture mode. i set her up with big picture mode (she already daily drives a steamdeck, made sense at the time) but now she's decided she wants the PC to launch into desktop, and, well... it's immutable, so it's more complicated than it needs to be. i'm sure there is a solve for it out there, i just haven't had the chance to dig into it yet

@koen_hufkens@mastodon.social i feel like a vegan reading ingredients whenever i buy any silly stupid little gadget lately..... does it need a proprietary app to work? will it work without the app? why does it need wifi, and will it work without it? does the app need a login....? and will it try to sell me a monthly subscription?? can i run my own code on it? #foss ?? .....why the fuck does a toaster need a screen, unless it is showing me video of my toast, and why the fuck would i need to see that?
