I assume GitHub made this as a response to specific attack vectors against English lettering. There's also zero width/invisibles which isn't in that list.

@millihertz literally all Rust does is prevent memory leaks and buffer overflows as long as the programmer doesn't type the unsafe keyword or use anything that has that keyword. There's lots of other language features too but fundamentally that's it.
