A lovely thing about modern technology: I could put my daughter to sleep yesterday and then watch UEFA Champions League final pretending I watch it live!
A downside was that it was well past minight when in ended, but the match was worth it!
Abour 15 years ago a colleague unsuccessfully tried to run some fun program he downloaded.
Then I made a joke: "random exe file from the internet - run".
Now it's official instruction how to install claude on mac.
Google changed icon for keep. Not yet on my phone, but at least the facicon on web.
Finally someone noticed the Keep and Slides have very similar icons?
Anyway, an improvement.
Air danger alert in eastern Lithuania. For more spice in our daily lives.
Maybe I'm to used to C/C++ way of doing things.
I find weird that in Swift you just write code like script in case it is a one file program, but if it's more than one file, then your files must not have statements at top level except one dedicated main.swift file.
I prefer explicit main function instead.
Oh, nice, Google has taught everyone to never delete emails. Now they begin to slowly make the storage paid.

Long read, but worth the time.
Days still I got pissed by C# array having .Length while all other collections have .Count: Zero.
How to annoy scrupulous people:
- put parentheses after some title saying that further in the text an acronym will be used instead)
- do not use acronym later in the text
Google delivers.
Messages app on my phone gives me menu item "Šiukšliadėžė", which translates to English as "Trash". Noun. Should understand as "delete" myself, I guess.
Tapping it gives a dialog titled "Perkelti %d pokalbį į šiukšliadėžę".
Yes, it litterally contains %d in it.
Never before have I though of this.
In C/C++ signature for main is:
int main(int argc, char **argv);
(yeah, there is also env version).
Note that argv is pointer to pointer where neither pointer is const. You can modify the thing!
Tried using clang on Mac, modifying argv[0] or argv[0][0] works.
Oh, nice, now we are going into the period where hardware gets worse as well:

Looks like I've just fixed a bug that is around two decades old and has survived app rewrite in different language. Good way to end Sunday.
Links don't open in Gnote if one has disabled auto-linking, in case anyone wonders.
First biking of the year. Amazing weather today in Vilnius too.
Some people still confused what to wear.
Was a challenge for my brain, seen the map with dates on territories, but remembering the exact year wasn't so easy.

A shoxkingly bad experience of using google maps. @CoMaps@floss.social is what I typically use, but I had to go to recently moved company in a naturally difficul area. Edited OpenStreetMap to be up to date now.
Anyway, shocking because it used to be decent. Now it guided my car like a pedestrian or bike, dunno. Next atempt defaulted to car, so I assume previous was as well. Just terrible.
Imagine a future where AI fails to take most of the jobs, but this happens after the "rescue" of universal basic income is implemented.
Have a good friday!
Evening: US stocks shine in green.
Morning: news sau Asian markets are red.
I'm still being extra careful in these violent times.
The treetop path neat Anykščiai, Lithuania.
Lithuanian Social Democrats are as usual: temporary reduced excise duty for diesel fuel, but not for gasoline (petrol). Because oil got more expensive for diesel driver, not for others or something. Supposedly a party that promotes equality.
Not complaining about not getting reduction as my car runs on gasoline. I can afford it and I don't drive all that much. But I'm certain there are people with gasoline cars in here to whom the rise in price hurts and gov leaves them behind.
@jwildeboer@social.wildeboer.net @scheichsbeutel@troet.cafe hopefully similat to Lithuania, where those fast ones are small.
But Hungary has a mixed system, similar to hours where part of the parlament is elected by voting for parties, other part for individuals, so it's hard to predict by votes for parties alone.
So, now it is the US who block the Strait of Hormuz?
Days since I last got something wrong due to negative naming: 0
Negative naming: anything containing "no" in the name, like "noExceptions".
Tip: use positive naming, like "enableExceptions", "readable" instead of "nonReadable" etc.
TIL: in C# array[^1] returns the last element.
A leader of a major party in Lithunia is being accused if corruption. This is big and will have major impact on ciuntries politics.
The party is in opposition, but was in coalition not so long ago and likely was trying to get back in.
Today I learned, that my countey had Europes first ministery of education.

Initially impressed by AI code reviews I am lately more and more dissapointed by them. Had multiple reviews lately that quite well demonstrate a thing that is known: these tools can't think.
One review was terrible in that it looked quite detailed description of a problem, but reading and applying logic makes it obvious there is no problem, pure contradiction in the claim.
I was positive in that I can just ignore it, so ok, sometimes good suites. Still true, but deteriorating.
UN will vote on using force to open the Strait of Homuz.
Now the biggest question is will it be vetoed? And if so, by whom?
Is it a good idea to update your computer of April 1st?
Trump says Iran war could end in 'two weeks, maybe three'
wasn't it supposed to be four, maybe less week operation?
Rubio says US can see 'finish line' on Iran war.
Mr. oversized shoes, you do know that long distance runs typically have interim lines?
I really really hope my pessimism on the matter is wrong and it all end soon.
