@gedankenstuecke@scholar.social @Alejandro_P@mathstodon.xyz I can’t get it to work in R.nvim. In just an R session, {terminalgraphics} works but not in a split through R.nvim. Still. I use this as well. It’s fast and just opens an XQuartz window for plots, which I don’t do much of lately.

@mackayim2022 we get ours annually in December before travel to the northern hemisphere for Christmas. It's been the same, unupdated vaccine for two years now. It really seems like it's just not important to those that make the decisions, so it's no wonder that uptake is low.

@davidsirota oh. But I, a middle-class someone who hasn’t lived in the US for 15+ years and am a citizen of another country is the issue with my “offshore” bank accounts for my everyday life. And so have to file taxes every year AND supply all sorts of bank statements or I face huge fines. Got it. Glad to see that the IRS has their priorities straight.

Hadley’s focus on making the community more inclusive is something I appreciate. I was disappointed to hear that the R community here isn’t active. I mean, we only have a dedicated instance for this language. But apparently Bsky is superior for engagement. I mean, yeah. Of you don’t put in any effort then leave you won’t have any.

If you're using @Posit@fosstodon.org's r-lib/actions/setup-r and {pak} (or even if not using {pak} you might switch for this), set `use-public-rspm: true` for your Ubuntu runners on GitHub actions. I've written up a how-to for using arf and {terminalgraphics} in R.nvim. Glad I did. I discovered a few gotchas that I'd forgotten and now have them recorded and cleaned up my nvim config files at the same time.

So, now you can have the IDE console experience in R.nvim AND the graphics baked in, no X11 or {httpgd} windows to fuss with. The only catch is you have to use Kitty or Wezterm for your terminal emulator.
