@Em0nM4stodon@infosec.exchange I don't think the vote happens in the European Parliament, so contacting your MEPs doesn't do much, no? AFAIK, the vote is among the local governments, so people should be contacting those. And then in particular citizens of countries that are set to vote in favour. (That said, even if the vote is accepted, Parliament I believe would still need to agree as well, but that would happen down the road.)

On the train to FOSDEM I quickly but finally bashed out a long-planned post on the Solid app I wrote that allows you to post to the Fediverse from your Solid Pod.

Main takeway: cool experiment, but @activitypods@fosstodon.org have the more feasible approach for now.

@theruss@mstdn.social Keep in mind that you're still trusting the instance if you're just looking at the "verified" badge. Bad actors can relatively easily set up their own instance with a fork of the Mastodon code, and add that badge without requiring actual verification.
