Just FYI, I'm planning on migrating *this* account (@RL_Dane@fosstodon.org) over to Polymaths (@rl_dane@polymaths.social) at some point in the next few days or weeks. (/Il faut préciser!/, I know!)

I still love the Fosstodon community and all of the groovy nerdy stuff that goes on here. The local feed is probably the best I've ever seen in terms of quality *and* quantity.

But trying to maintain two identities is making me a *wee* bit cross-eyed. XD

@praxeology@post.lurk.org I kinda liked how notifications worked in classic iOS: A little window would pop up in front of everything, and you could acknowledge or dismiss it, and then it was gone forever. They really were interruptions, and you didn't tend to enable them for too many apps. Now the notification center is just another horrid inbox to go through. XD

@laramar@sigmoid.social No way! That's too cool 😁 I've used it a little, although I can't find a list of phones/diphones/phonemes to use with it anywhere. I had been using mimic, which is a *little* more natural-sounduing, but I couldn't find it in #OpenBSD ports at that moment, and since that was the box I was on right then, I went with the next best thing. Flite doesn't sound too bad, it's just way too quiet. How do you select a voice? There's not much in the way of online help.

@smallsco@oldbytes.space Just FYI, flite (festvox lite, a very basic FOSS speech synthesis program) pronounces SuperBowl and SuperbOwl the same (as super bowl). I don't think it understands camelcase at all, though. ROFL, yeah, it doesn't. It just pronounced ExpertsExchange the way you might think!!

When I saw an interview with Nathan Tardif on youtube recently, I was blown away to see that he was only in his latter 40s, clean-cut and well-kempt. The Noodlers' inks are so varied, don't judge them all by Noodler's Black's nib-creepiness or Baystate Blue's [if you spill it, bulldoze your house and build a new one] permanence.
