@mayorbeetles It's kinda painful how much "IM A BAD FOR BUYING THESE BOOKS" is, in fact, reflective of the worldview expressed by Rowling in those books. It is not the actions which have the qualities of being innately good or bad; it is the people doing them. I wish it were emphasized more how backwards that is, and how "am I a good person" is in fact a grand and cosmic question quite beyond our ken.

@ireneista I feel similarly, but I want it to be said that there is no valor in letting yourself be burned out. What use is knowing about all the evil if it makes you too despairing to do anything about it? It is therefore necessary to find or build joy wherever you can, so you can use it as a foundation for your resistance. It is important never to let go of your moral compass as you do so, however. Devote time to grieving. Devote time to grounding. Devote time to building, refueling, pushing.
