@Wynter@blahaj.zone Thank you for the kind words. It surprised me how stressful and exhausting it was even being in a wholly supportive space. With all the restrooms marked gender-neutral, I still always felt like an intruder. Nobody looked twice at me, but I just imagined hostility and judgment, felt like I wasn’t doing enough and everyone could tell. It’s a lot to get used to and so much of the difficulty I felt was purely internal, self-inflicted.

I think I've also had a long-time tug-of-war between wanting to express myself and share more on my socials and wanting to stay closed off and focused on art posts. Something to think about going forward, I guess.

It was honestly a little strange to draw this for Trans Day of Visibility, because at the time I'd just left TFF. It was my first time being publicly, visibly female for an extended period, and what safer place for it than a furry con, right? But by Sunday I was thoroughly riddled with anxiety and self-doubt and didn't want to be perceived at all.
I still feel like "trans" and "female" are badges I don't deserve to wear. But I would never say that of someone else, and I know impostor syndrome just comes with the territory.
I'm not used to being open about my life and feelings on the internet, and maybe none of this is even worth sharing, but hey. Visibility.
