Travel can be very stressful - especially if you're a parent & are the primary person in charge of packing. One of the most useful things I've ever done is create a Master Pack List that covers the average week long trip. It completely eliminates the mental load of figuring out what to pack. #travel #parenting #LifeHack

RE: https://mastodon.cloud/@slashdot/117034109353216769 As someone who studied like a fiend, stressed out like crazy, and would never, ever cheat on a test, this absolutely BOILS my blood. The thought of either being disadvantaged by a curve that now includes a TON of cheaters OR being forced to retake an exam I stressed & studied for is totally crushing. More people need to nope out of post-secondary & go the online self-directed education or apprenticeship routes. #AI #education #c...

The tech professional's quintessential dream of moving to a cabin in the woods. ๐Ÿ˜“ Had a benign action on a #MediaWiki instance triggering a ModSecurity false flag blocking my IP. I thought the entire server was down. Actually I had to disable a specific #ModSecurity rule. I'm a team of 1 managing these servers. This is a very lonely situation. The stories of large sites selling their data to #OpenAI then seeing a complete crash of their traffic and userbase is both sad and a blatant tale of #FAFO that I struggle to feel empathy about. We have a family #karate belt test this weekend. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿฅ‹ Trying to wrangle 3 boys ages 10 - 14 to *focus* on drills to practice for like 20 minutes is high-key a parenting nightmare. I've got one kid asking questions, another kid sitting down on the couch, another kid proposing a different type of drill, another kid getting frustrated, another kid starting to read a book... Meanwhile I don't have that plastic preteen mind anymore so the memorization takes me a good bit longer.

Can't remember if I ever beat this as a kid, but listening to the #DosGames Club podcast inspired me to whip out the #DosBox again and explore some of my old favs. Monuments Of Mars (1991) was such a unique game in my childhood collection with its orange and green colour scheme and it's one-screen puzzles. I had a professor in a university PM course who had a lesson that has had a lasting impression on me. He said that the people who are most successful in #life & #business, are the ones who most readily adapt to change of all kinds. His advice was that more than any other skill, if you practise being adaptable and quick to let go of old assumptions & behaviours, then you will have an advantage when things inevitably change. This is on my mind a lot as we face so much change t...
