There is so much that could be done to make cinema etiquette more inclusive. Ask people to mute & lower the brightness instead of not check mobile phones at all. Have an intermission for movies over 2 hours. Etc.

@syntaxseed@phpc.social i have a friend who will start passively aggressively bitching just loud enough for the people who were pissing him off to hear in the theatre. which means he is being a louder disruption than they were. candy wrappers trigger him too. its pretty embarrassing. i would rather we change nothing about the expected etiquette and instead have the theatre re-hire the guy whose job it is to deal with problem people like the people who triggered my friend, and my friend.
