  this latest js project i am working on i am building it with what i find to be working the most well in regards to vs code being able to auto complete my misc classes from misc files. like i prefer import { whatever } but vscode doesnt get it, so i had to go with import * as whatever. then suddenly i can suddenly get completes when i jsdock for the whatever.thing

  i like how css has units like centimeters but 1cm on my computer is 1.2cm and 1cm on my phone is 0.6cm. so that is useless.

  container based media queries are my new favourite css thing. haven't checked if bootstrap uses them yet, doubt it. on my own custom ui kit it lets me give the app proper responsive behaviour based on the container size. meaning your flexbox, grid, etc, can now react to its own size independently of the browser size. each widget can be self managed for best scaling behaviours based on where you shoved it in the template and how the template is behaving on any viewport.

  of all the things i have been surprised that i can animate with css, like clip-path, and filter: saturate(), at least in firefox filter: blur() completely breaks the animation such that "nothing happens"

  we have had a large data import running for 35+ hours now. its going much slower than i expected, but i am really impressed that mariadb is using 100%+ of one of the cpu while the other cpu is keeping the other services responsive, which includes services attempting to read that same database.

  considering it is detectable and avoidable you would think that by now i would have added BOM byte detection in my csv reader, instead of always forgetting that is why the header row is a bit funky and being confused for 20 minutes.

  it is pretty comical to me that as i have finally been "maturing" in my work such as, forcing time to be spent on the little things that make projects easier to maintain, everyone else is trying to make their life harder by wasting their time trying to convince a computer to do the work for them.

  know i don't need to generally worry about the directory separator in php. but that doesnt stop me from feeling like i need to do join(DIRECTORY_SEPARATOR, [ 'bits', 'of', 'path' ]) because if i see the wrong slash in my terminal output i will lose my mind.

  file locking does not work how i thought it did, at all. because technically... it just does not work, at all. * flock lock_ex a file * cat that file from somewhere else expected: cat sits there waiting for file to be unlocked before printing contents to terminal actual: it just reads the bloody file as if i never asked the os to exclusive lock it.

  there has been a spider zooming back and forth across the wall directly behind and above my screen. left. then right. then left. then right. then left. then ri nope he got me went down. zoom back up. then right. its so thin and hard to see that the shadow it casts because my hues shine up the wall, that i see its shadow more than the spider itself. seems to be having such a fun time i can't bring myself to get rid of it.
