Had a benign action on a #MediaWiki instance triggering a ModSecurity false flag blocking my IP. I thought the entire server was down. Actually I had to disable a specific #ModSecurity rule.
I'm a team of 1 managing these servers.
This is a very lonely situation. Who could ever be expected to know what's happening?? It's just confused sysadmins and a lot of Googling. Brutal.

@syntaxseed@phpc.social Any tips on getting started with modsecurity? I'm ok with the normal trajectory (reading the project documentation, installing it for myself, slowly building my understanding). Just interested in shortcuts on learning for someone who's been in the tech professional trenches for awhile already. Seems like deadtree books are expensive and not very new. #modsecurity
