  Does anyone know of a powerful NAS, ideally one thats upgradable that I can install my own OS onto? Id love a HP MIcroserver Gen 10 v2 Plus, but it sounds like theyre pretty loud? I have a Thinkcentre M720q, which is awesome, but figuring out how to power JBOD reliably and safely, and how to get 4 SATA connections out of it is a bit beyond me.   The fucked up thing about having #OCD and #autism is... Being autistic often means you miss out on these vaguely defined social queues... You get traumatised by how people react and you try and do better. This often leads to OCD, we obsess in outlandish detail about how every little thing could be interpreted to avoid ostracisation... Then finding yourself in OCD therapy, trying to unlearning what you learnt to stop yourself from getting hated by everyone. Its exhausting. #ActuallyAutistic

  Gran died on Monday. I booked last minute therapy yesterday. It had been 2 months since my last apt… He was trans, but I got an email from him saying that he’s put his medical transition on pause, possibly forever. He’s removed resources about the dangers of conversion therapy on his site, and he’s added a bit talking about how he’s “exploring his faith”.   I'm trying to understand something: I've watched a YouTube video twice (refreshing between watches) and captured its quic packets using Wireshark. Exporting both watches into their own JSON files. Looking at the UDP and quic payloads, the encrypted data looks different? Its the same video, though! If the data being encrypted is the same, shouldnt it look similar? Is it because maybe the buffering took place at different time stamps on both watches? #CyberSecurity #Security

  Called my hospital about Mondays cardiology apt, I needed to send my Dr the clinical summary. The receptionist asked if I was the patient and for my date of birth and name etc, then asked AGAIN if I was the patient… i confirmed. She asked why I called, followed by: “Are you the patient?”. I confirmed AGAIN. Then, she said: “I don’t mean to be rude, but is the ‘Ms’ title on your file correct?”. I confirmed. If you’re not being hate crimed you’re treated as a fraud 🙄 #trans

  Anyway, had my cardiology apt on Tuesday. He was absolutely _adorable_. The 1st first question was about my preferred pronouns. He arranged a tilt table test, echocardiogram, and a Holter test. At the end of the call, he asked whether it’d be ok to include what we discussed about my HRT. Absolutely no notes with this guy. Fucking incredible.   I get that the reality of development today is that a lot of our tools are rented, and paid for... but christ: crafting an entire skill set around a proprietary tool is MAJORLY risky. Whether that's LLM slop bots, or some proprietary database, you essentially get held hostage by whatever enshitification crap they wanna do to their products. Long live #FOSS #programming

  I have no idea what I'm gonna do if I don't get this coding job. I've applied for 100s of roles, I have a 100% failure rate with all the interviews I have had (even with good feedback). Being an autistic worker sucks. So few jobs are WfH, even fewer of them actually involve NOT fucking other people up or making society worse. It feels like I have to forge my own path, but that also has its huge downsides.
