🇦🇺 #Volvo #Buses has unveiled Australia’s first electric articulated bus, the 18-metre Volvo BZL Electric Articulated, to meet growing demand for high-capacity, zero-emission urban transport. The low-floor, fully electric chassis is fitted with a locally built Volgren body, with the first vehicle produced in Perth for the Public #Transport Authority of Western #Australia (PTA). More than 140 rigid Volvo BZL Electric buses have been operating across Australia since 2022, providing an established support network. Volvo says the new model was developed for #Australian conditions and the PTA, with which it has worked for more than a decade. The PTA has taken delivery of more than 1,400 Volvo buses. The 57-seat bus features dual 200kW motors, 12 LFP batteries with 497kWh of installed energy, and CCS2 charging.

FYI: då jag igår låg 4h i bagaget på en Volvo s40 för att försöka fixa låsproblemet avbokade jag imorse den tvättidd jag bokat till idag.
För att vara hemma och städa istället.
Det finns säkert någon spelbörs i något obskyrt no-tax-haven som låter er satsa era surt förvärvade pengar på sannolikheten att jag i praktiken kommer att städa idag.
Det sprids ett rykte att sannolikheten i liknande situationer är <10%.

Geely, the Chinese company owning the #Volvo and #Polestar brands, has been hit by Trump`s admin in a weird way. Polestar cars are not allowed to be sold in the US, as part of a rule banning connected cars from automakers with Chinese links. Volvo Cars are fine, however. #Kent County Council has introduced Dover’s first fully electric #buses on the #Dover #Fastrack network, in partnership with #Stagecoach South East and Dover District Council, funded through the Department for Transport’s ZEBRA scheme. The fleet of five #Volvo BZL buses can travel up to 300km on a single charge and feature low-floor access, wheelchair spaces, digital screens and USB charging. Dover Fastrack, linking Whitfield with Dover town centre and Dover Priory station, has expanded its timetable since launching in November 2024. Councillors and operators highlight the investment as a step towards modern, sustainable public #transport and supporting local economic growth.
