Waiting for food in Pirmas Blynas, a church basement ”social restaurant” that only employs disabled ppl and persons with learning difficulties. The interior is really cool. Several vegetarian/vegan choices on the menu. The starter beetroot soup was tasty. The ordering system is very clear, to root out any misunderstandings: you fill in a form, and the waiter double-checks it with you. I’d wish all the restaurants had the same system! (No alt, @tootapp@mastodon.social hates me.) #vilnius #lithuania #mamutai

🇱🇹 🇱🇹 🇱🇹 Multiproxy analysis reveals migration and potential origins of the first Christians in medieval Vilnius "Based on the results, the authors argue that males were more socially mobile than females, with one male possibly having immigrated from south-eastern Europe, supporting historical accounts of a multiethnic founder community including immigrant Orthodox Christians and local converts." Twenty-year-old travel influencer Sophia Lee, was sitting in a cafe in Lithuania’s capital #Vilnius, when a strange message landed in her #Instagram inbox: it was an offer for a free, all expenses-paid trip to #Iran — in the middle of the #war.
