Privati di cibo e acqua, costretti a dormire su pavimenti “deliberatamente e continuamente allagati“. E poi calci, pugni, le mani legate dietro la schiena. E’ il racconto degli attivisti della Global Sumud Flotilla bloccati in acque territoriali greche dalla Marina israeliana. I maltrattamenti, secondo quanto testimoniano anche le immagini delle ferite, sono avvenuti proprio a bordo della nave della Marina di Tel Aviv. “Quaranta ore di crudeltà premeditata” viene detto. La violenza, in particolare, sarebbe esplosa quando l’equipaggio della Flotilla ha reagito alla notizia che due di loro – Saif Abukeshek (spagnolo di origini palestinesi) e Thiago Ávila (brasiliano) – non sarebbero sbarcati con tutti gli altri a Creta, ma sarebbero stati “trattenuti” e portati in Israele per essere interrogati. A quel punto gli altri attivisti hanno opposto quella che definiscono “una resistenza pacifica”. “La risposta – raccontano – è stata di pura violenza”. “Sono stati presi a pugni e calci e trascinati sul ponte con le mani legate dietro la schiena – ricordano -. Hanno subito fratture al naso, costole incrinate e percosse sanguinose“. Il video a corredo del post social mostra le ferite subite dagli attivisti. Nel caos del momento, aggiungono, sono stati anche esplosi colpi di arma da fuoco per intimorirli.

Ora, spiega la Flotilla nella nota online, “l’incubo non è finito”. La polizia greca infatti “sta tenendo ora intrappolando il nostro equipaggio malconcio sugli autobus”, negando loro la libertà di andarsene, “mentre Saif e Thiago sono stati rapiti e riportati nella Palestina occupata”. Sessanta attivisti per tutti questi motivi hanno subito iniziato uno sciopero della fame. “Questo è un attacco brutale contro civili innocenti. Non resteremo indifferenti”.

It’s the account of the activists from the Global Sumud Flotilla, blocked in Greek territorial waters by the Israeli Navy. The mistreatment, according to the testimony of the images of the wounds, occurred precisely on board the Tel Aviv Navy ship. “Forty hours of premeditated cruelty” is being said. Now, the Flotilla says in the online note, “the nightmare is not over.” The Greek police are now “detaining our weakened crew on buses,” denying them freedom to leave, “while Saif and Thiago have been kidnapped and returned to the occupied Palestine.” Sixty activists have begun a hunger strike for all these reasons. “This is a brutal attack on innocent civilians. We will not remain indifferent.”
