Last Bandcamp Friday, Love a Brother Radio (@labr@ravenation.club) threw a launch party for my album release. After the show, @brothersoul@mstdn.social, @DJUpNorth@mastodon.scot and I concocted a crazy plan to do a show on every Bandcamp Friday to help promote songwriters, musicians, and bands on the Fediverse. The next Bandcamp Friday is on the 7th of August, 2026. LABR - Love A Brother Radio @labr@ravenation.club plans to host a show to promote your Bandcamp releases, with the show becoming available as a podcast that you can listen and share in its entirety afterwards. We’ll post your Bandcamp links on Mastodon as your track gets played on the radio during Bandcamp Friday. If you’d like your Bandcamp release to be considered* for Brother Souls Weekend Workout Show next Bandcamp Friday, send an email to programming@labr.online with Attention Brother Soul & DJ UpNorth, and: an attached mp3 file of your track, the name of your track, the name of your artist/band, Mastodon/Fediverse account associated with the artist/band, and link to the Bandcamp page for the track. This is a show for the community of artists on the Fediverse, hosted by artists on the Fediverse. There’s no advertising or sponsorship. LABR are here to support the amazing artists in our community. Did you know that, due to the way federation works, you might not be seeing all posts with the tag? *This is probably fine!* There are a lot of them! But maybe you want more? TIP 1: See how much of Monsterdon you're missing: visit https://tag-federation.online/#tag=monsterdon and put your instance in one of the boxes (not the first one, mastodon dot social probably sees most of the Monsterdon posts). TIP 2: If you want to see a LOT MORE posts, here are two options: a) Follow @monsterdon - this is a bot that will boost tagged posts by participating users and participating servers into your timeline (see https://tags.pub/#optin if you want to be a participating user) b) If you're on Mastodon, you can paste the following URL into your "search" box and hit "follow": https://relay.fedi.buzz/tag/monsterdon (I don't know if this works on non-mastodon instances). This is a different bot that scrapes a lot more posts and boosts them into your timeline #MonsterdonAlert

Some really interesting divergences in @ricci@discuss.systems’ hashtag tool, with a semi popular tech nerd instance as the medium and my home of #SocialCoop as the smol: https://tag-federation.online/#tag=caturday&servers=mastodon.social,infosec.exchange,social.coop - Caturday broadly as visible here as on infosec.exchange, both being a sizable majority of m.s. Similar for DogsOfMastodon. https://tag-federation.online/#tag=throwbackThursday&servers=mastodon.social,infosec.exchange,social.coop - ThrowbackThursday enjoys almost perfect replication on infosec, yet almost nothing on social.coop! https://tag-federation.online/#tag=TransRights&servers=mastodon.social,infosec.exchange,social.coop - trans rights looks more like the animals hashtags than the nostalgia one, but with a bit more of a local to me dropoff. Already wondering what kinds of pseudo-research one could do here re: what categories of hashtags have broader reach, and how fast the drop off is on smaller instances.

So , day 2 on the #fediverse. Gonna play more with the #tag bot which I think may be overactivated if we put enough effort in this. I got suggestion of #accounts to foolow ! Which it's great since yesterday was lackluster about building a feed. I'm glad I found this random ass #instance with the over the top char limit, I mean 500 is good but I don't like sending bazillion messages to get my point so win/win I guess ? Anyway #coffee time and maybe some voluntary abuse (#work)

Spent some time recently tracing the history of the discount rate guidance in various recent editions of the Green Book and its supplementary documents. The guidance has changed, and in the latest Forthcoming Change notices from DfT, TAG is now taking more of it on board. It’s a complicated story.
