...if you're migrating your photos from Apple iCloud to #Immich (or #Pixelunion) be aware that Immich will delete meta-data - and will not notify you of this. I can understand if they can't migrate all metadata (yet?), but not notifying users of this is just bad design / plain wrong of course 👎🏼

It took me about 2 days to transfer over 250 GB of photos from Google Photos to @pixelunion@mastodon.social. Now my photos are safe and sound in Europe.
The face recognition works even better than Google's, and Immich is an awesome piece of software. I would have hosted this entirely on my own like my Nextcloud, but paying a couple of bucks for 450 GB of storage and a fast server is a real bargain and saves me the hassle. Well done, PixelUnion!
