Wieso haben wir nicht mal einen Versuch eine europäische Zahlungskarte analog zu #Visa und #MasterCard einzurichten? Wieso macht sich Europa so maximal abhängig von den USA? #WERO sehe ich eher als PayPal Konkurrenz, und nicht als vollwertiges Zahlungssystem. Oder sehe ich es falsch?

Mastercard is laying the foundation to support/enable agent to agent payments aka fully automated no human needed payments! Agent Pay for Machines, is their platform that lets AI agents and software systems make secure, automated payments across cards, bank accounts and stablecoins. The solution claims it will create trust by authenticating AI agents, enforcing spending limits and guaranteeing settlement through Mastercard’s network. France is the only EU country that has kept a sovereign payment card system similar to #Mastercard and #Visa. It's called #CB and it's supported, together with either one of the other two American systems, in most of French credit cards. A few months ago #Apple decided to prioritize CB payments in Apple Pay.
