The decline in people’s ability to judge #quality isn’t just getting #worse in #politics , it’s happening in consumer #markets too. If you had the impression that #goods are much worse than they used to be, you are factually right! In both, politics and goods manufacturing many are exploiting this cognitive #decline. Exploring the reasons would be interesting; I strongly suspect #socialmedia manipulation is a major driver. #CriticalThinking https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/aug/10/consumed-consumer-goods-quality

Here’s one of the reasons I think todays #StockMarket rally is irrational exuberance and not sustainable. The threat is very simply not yet mitigated. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cjrv0dy2e90o #economy #investing #oil #IranWar #markets

Paul Krugman explains why, even though the Federal Reserve didn't recently raise rates to control inflation (which they should have), the Bond Market increased yields anyway.

The Bond Market Doesn’t Like Bullshit. https://paulkrugman.substack.com/p/the-bond-market-doesnt-like-bullshit

… the 30-year Treasury rate spiked and the dollar fell slightly. In plain English, this was the equivalent of bond market traders running for the exits.

And now it's FAFO time for the USA dollar. Just don't use the 'D' (Deflation) word…

Institutional exit from Tech reaches a decade record: Goldman Sachs data (Jul 2026 via V. Lin) shows hedge funds cut tech exposure by ~10% in two months—the largest cumulative outflow in over 10 years. Following April's 1.9:1 de-grossing spike, smart money is systematically de-risking from crowded AI & semiconductor trades. #Markets #Finance #AI
